Warning: It involves poop.
I wasn't really sure where to post this, but figured I need to share this with other dedicated beardie owners.
About two hours ago, I started to freak out about my beardie. I noticed today that it seems she was either bloated or starting to gain weight. For a while, I started really doubting myself as an owner. How had I not noticed?
When I got home later on, I noticed she started seeming really finnicky. I figured it was time to start searching symptoms of bloated gut, being finnicky, etc. I came across multiple articles stating SHE MUST BE PREGNANT. She's only 9 months and has never been in contact with a male. Still, I saw young beardies can still carry infertile eggs. Worried I began writing a post on this forum, asking for much needed advice.
I put her on my chest, taking pictures. Soon I began typing away, trying to cover every question that I had about this problem. Once again, she seemed really finnicky.
And then it happened. She propped herself up, and relieved herself in the most grand fashion right on me. I sat her back on her rock, threw my clothes in the wash, took a shower, and opened up my phone to see my "pregnancy" draft. Lightbulb went off.
Goes to show that reptile owners have to put up with just as much as any other pet owner. Sorry if I grossed you out, but I guarentee somebody has a story just like it! Next pregnancy scare, I think I'll just give her a bath...
