I came in tonight to find Lizz asleep in the funniest position - sitting up! He'd braced himself against his branch and was sort of sitting back on it, with his belly and his left hand touching the glass, but he was not trapped. When I woke him, I got the stink eye and he did move away from the branch, so he wasn't trapped, but could this crazy toad have really been happy sleeping like this?

I wish I could sleep like they do - would make long car rides/plane trips so much easier!

I was almost afraid to post the picture for fear that someone would say I was mistreating him. But he got himself into that position and he got out of it by himself, too.
But yeah, he looks like partied too much and passed out right where he was.

Awww thats so cute :D Its like my 6 month old beardie always wakes of pressed up in the corner with his head really far back, i guess its just like us humans they sleep in any posistion they feel coumfy in :)

Den, no he is not usually that dark. That is part of what made me question it. It looks like stress marks to me, ( I'm kinda new, so I could be wrong) but why would he sleep like that if he is stressing, especially since he was not trapped? If I was uncomfortable, I'd move.

LOL, that's so cute! I love it when they smoosh their pudgy bellies against the glass like that.
I wouldn't worry about the stress marks, they don't necessarily mean he is unhappy... They get those for other reasons too. Dudley always turns dark when I accidentally wake him up when I take pics of his strange sleeping positions too LOL.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
