frilled dragon!

well today i adopted a sick frilled dragon. the dragon is 2yrs old supposed to be a male but from what i have read i think female. its 17"long and really skinny at 80 grams. it has shedded skin stuck to its eyes like it never had the proper humidity. the guy had problems with it eating and its been a few days since it last ate it was really drawn in and looked better once i soaked it in warm water. its really lethargic right now but i gave it some reptaid and set it up in a nice warm 40 breeder tank. if anyone has any tips on these lizards i would appriciate it! i do plan on building a bigger tank for it once its a bit more healthy it was kept in a 50 gal tank. i am thinking of naming it roxie. it looks skinnyer in person its hard to get a good picture with its coloring but you can clearly see its ribs those bumps on its side in the pictures are its ribs! i have seen frilleds before but none ever looked so thin

Congrats on saving the frillie. I have some myself and must say they are every bit as personable and friendly as a bearded dragon. As for their care, it is pretty similar to bearded dragons except they should have a slightly high level of humidity. You can do that by adding a substrate the holds some moisture or keeping water in it's viv at all times. The can eat most of the same foods but if your feeding veggies stay away from kale. Mine don't seem to care for the veggies but they like crickets, supers, horned worms....

Just by the picture I'd guess you have a female too as the frill is shorter than I would expect on a male. She is also pretty small for two years old but hopefully with the right care she'll take off.

kevin. i do have a few questions! what should she weigh? what would be the ideal cage size for her?i am going to make her her very own custom cage like i did my beardies and what should i use for flooring in it? i have read tile is no good because they like to climb and could fall on it. is the reptisun 10.0 the right uvb bulb for her?. on average how much does one of these eat in a day? i have never owned one of these before but have always wanted one.when i first saw her she was freezing cold her owner met me partway and i dont think the heater in his car worked. i wasent expecing her to be in such rough shape but i couldent leave her she obviously needed someone to give her a better life!

ricco is doing well. hes kinda sleepy at the moment so he hasent been eating as much all he wants to do is sleep! hes 450grams 20" long right now. hes a big baby my daughter likes to watch tinkerbelle movies with him
