Food size

I seen the size of the food should not be bigger than the space between the eyes. Does that mean the width of the cricket or length.

I gave him one that got on my hand that might been a little too big and he didn't eat any more. Was trying to get him the smallest I had.

that is the length of the cricket.

if the cricket was to big you need to get him to drink some water. if you have a dropper that is great if not soak him in a bath for 10-15 minutes. the liquid will help him out. make sure he has a really good spot to bask. he should be fine as long as you take these precautions to keep it from getting stuck in his digestive tract.

He will probably be fine just keep an eye on him. Make sure is is basking and not just laying somewhere with his head down! mine got ahold of a cricket one time that was a little too big and i had to force water and basking to get him to push it through because he was obviously uncomfortable after it happened.

After he drunk a few drops or so I put him back in tank and he got on his rock shortly after. Did notice him open is mouth a little for some seconds after eating it and drinking. The temp wasn't what it needs to be but I didn't have the light on very long do it should get around the temp needed.

So on the size. Is it the total size of the cricket or just length or width

Length. a medium to large cricket is about the same width as the distance between the eyes. but a young baby dragon is definitely not going to digest one of these.

K. The ones have at the moment is not adults. The ones I have are roughly 1/3 the size of an adult cricket.

how big is your beardie? young juveniles needs pinheads if at all possible.

there isn't such thing as to small of food. the smaller the better if you are unsure. just means your dragon will have to eat a couple more if they are smaller than he would normally eat :D

I am not for sure how long his body is, excluding tail. I would say around 4 to 6 inches.

What if I can't get no pin heads. I have been trying to feed him the smallest I can get of the ones had since the pet store didn't have the pin heads. He is surely a little hungry because I can't give him large ones.

i would advise ordering online. either dubia roaches or crickets. i would aim to get pinheads, though he MAY be able to handle the small ones instead. hard for me to say that though without seeing him. if he is 4-6 inches excluding the tail i am sure that he could do the small pretty easily! Get online and order you some and for now just make sure you give him the smallest ones you can. if you must you can always get repti-worms and a vibrating bowl and that will get you out of a bind until your crickets come in. very nutritional and can easily sustain him until you get your order of live prey in :D

I was told by a pretty well known breeder that the largest thing baby dragons should eat are bugs no bigger than the size of the dragons head. I take it as like from the snout to the back of the skull in length and the space from eye to eye in width. I'm no expert as I only have two dragons and they are babies. Mine gobble up dubia roach nymphs and Phoenix worms like there's no tomorrow.

Would it be okay to feed him baby food until I can get crickets. The store said they won't have any pin heads until Tuesday. If so how do I feed him that.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
