hey, I have a question I have been told that the Australian version of mealworms are what the Americans call superwomrs?

Can someone confirm?

Superworms are a lot larger than mealworms, i believe usually mealworms are about an inch or less with superworms being around 2 inches or at least an inch an a half.

Are their any other ways to tell the difference other then size cause apparently both are sold over here as mealworms.... confusing am I right LOL.

Both mealworms and superworms arent the best, superworms especially. Their more of a treat feeder with superworms only being fed 2-4 per feeding at max for an adult beardie because of the very high fat content, some beardies also refuse healthy foods for these, ive had my two adults almost try to starve themselves so to avoid them starving i kept giving them superworms and after 4-6 months finally got them onto crickets again.

As for the mealworms they have a slightly lower fat content but not where its healthy either and cant be fed as a sole staple feeder. I usually only give 5-10 of these to my beardies per feeding.

Their larger and browner basically and then mealworms are smaller and slightly reddish/tanish in color.

I'm thinking wood cockroaches as a stable and then silkworms, crickets, and some other sort of worm as a treat/wheveneve I can get it so prob one of those once a week?

BSF lavae ( Livefoods Limited )
silkworms ( Livefoods limited , Piscus , Aussie Fauna , PeacefulSilkworms and hobbyists on gumtree = cheapest option)
crickets , everyone sells them - I order my crickets from either Frog Arcade or LiveFoods Limited)
woodies , everyone sells them (roaches)
blowfly gents (Frog Arcade)
Superworms - everyone sells them
Mealworms - everyone sells them
