Hello, my new baby Zeld is 5 1/2 inches long.
At that size how much food and how often should I be feeding her/him?
Zeld like his/her mealworms and crickets!
I'm giving 3 mealworms and 2-3 crickets in the morning/night and baby broccoli and carrots all day long.
Am I doing it right? :?

My wife turns on the lights and gives ours a dish of veggies. When I get home from work I will give them worms and crickets maybe 10 to 15 worms and around 15 to 20 crickets. They are in their own rooms so each one gets that.

Hi. Babies should be fed 2x to 3x a day as much as he/she will eat in 15 mins. They need their feeders dusted one feeding 5x a week with calcium and 2x with vitamins. Meal worms are not good for them. They are hard for them to digest and cause impaction. Crickets, dubia, Phoenix worms, butter worms and horn worms are good feeders. As for veggies this site beautifuldragons.com has a good list of what to feed.

What about wax worms. Petco said it was ok for Zeld. I am dusting the worms and crickets. I have the print out sheet from beautifuldragons.com. Zeld is still not eating veggies, but has taken two bites of a very little piece of baby broccoli top. First gave spinach but someone said it kills BD and don't give it and carrots, Zeld said nope to that. Then tried collard and still said nope.
What am I doing wrong? Tuesday will be a week that we brought Zeld home.

Wax worms are basically candy bars for beardies. They also get addicted to them. Also babies need 80% protein 20% veggies. So don't worry if she doesnt eat salad or just alittle. Mine didn't really get into salad until they reached 6 months and even now they don't always eat their salad. Also I learned along time ago pet stores are notorious for giving the wrong information.
