First time bath

Hi. i'm new to the site. I have had Beardies in the past, but never bathed them. I have been reading on this site about people bating their dragons, especially babies. Well today I gave my baby beardie Bonzer his first bath.
he or she, not sure yet, too young ( about maybe 2 months )just sat very still for about ten minutes. I took an eye dropper and dropped some water on his/her nose and back. After about ten minuteshe/she took a few steps, looked down, and proceeded to drink some water for a few seconds :D .No pooping occured as I hear some say frequently happens. All in all I think things went well. I shall try again in a day or two and see how it goes. :)

Welcome Glad to have you

That's great that your beardie enjoyed the water, great start

Mine likes it to a point but after a few minutes she is ready to get out

All of my beardies didn't poo in the bath until they were probably 8-10 inches. I don't know if it's because little guys go all the time and never hold it or what. But worry not, most eventually become bath poopers

Lincoln still just sits and looks freaked out, or he is trying to get out. But he is pooping in the bath. I still haven't gotten him to drink the water though, guessing it will come with time.

Awww that's so cute! The first time we gave Twitch a bath I don't think she'd ever had one and she freaked out. But after a minute she was like "ahhh, pancake" She has never swimmed in her bath but Hermes likes to *swish, swish, swish* hopefully Bonzer will too cuz it's so fun

Hey... It sounds like your BD's first bah was great... well done! I gave Kafka his first big bath today, I don't think he knew what was happening. In fact he tried to climb up the chain connecting the plug in the bath. I think he wa saying PLEASE get me outta here. I put my hands in the bath and spoke softly to him and then he had a SWIM YAY... it was great :D Then he chilled for a while and i made some waves (tiny swishes actually) he seemed to like it. He didn't drink aything though....! I hope the next bath is even better for you and your BD.

Well, this afternoon i went to take Bonzer out of His/her cage and a really cute/funny thing happened.
I took the top off and was reaching in to pick him up when suddenly he jumped down and ran to the side of the cage. I thought " Oh no, the bath thing did freak him out. but then I realized he saw a cricket over there. He stopped, turned his head slightly in my direction and began to wave. It was so cute i started laughing. The cricket began moving again and he went after it and gobbled it up. i tossed in a few extra crickets and he went after them too. So I guess the bath was not a traumatic thing after all. :D

My female beardie Pan is nearly 3yrs old and kicks up a right fuss in the bath! The old beard comes out then she puffs herself up ready for her bath time strop! I must say its highly entertaining and she tends to be a little grumpster when she comes out. We tend to soften the blow with a few locusts and a cuddle in a warm fluffy towel! I tend to talk to her in the bath and tell its for her own good but the look on her face says it all and thats generally "get me outta here and then naff off" !!!! I just love the grumpy look she gives me and still manages to be very adorable with it! Once she's endured the procedure, I make sure she's rewarded with a treat and some cuddles and generally make a right old fuss of her! Sometimes she has a drink of the water then sometimes she poops straight away as if to say "Hahaha, now you can get me out" !!

She's priceless but still my little princess!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
