first meal of worms

I ran out of crickets today and was in a rush so rather than wait around for someone to count crickets for me I just grabbed a tub of waxworms out of the fridge at petsmart.

They are nasty looking little things!!! so I had my son dig out three of them and put them in our beardies salad this afternoon.
He gobbled them up so about an hour later we gave him three more.

He gobbled those up as well as most of his salad tonight.

I am noticing his tummy looks way fatter than when he eats crickets and he has not pooped after eating them. He also was doing lots of what looked like swallowing.

I don't plan to make these a staple but until I get some silkworms or butterworms I would like to supplement with them.

How many should I feed in one meal, he is 12 inches long and eats around 30 small crickets a day.

From what I've read on here they are like beardie candy. They are too fatty for a staple feeder. We tried them on Redrock a couple of years ago. She wouldn't eat them. We haven't tried them since.

i had fed mine meal worms and he wasnt pooping so i put him in the tub so it could pass and he actually threw them up from a week ago so i never feed them meal worms...but after that he was fine so maybe its compaction?
