Hi all! I'm so glad to have come across this website, we've just got our first Beardie and have a million questions! Actually, if I'm honest, he's our second beardie. The first one we got from a guy who had bred them, I didn't recognise the signs that the dragon was sick and he died in a few days :( This one, on the other hand is crazy! He's 7 months old and is the most fascinating thing we've ever had - the kids adore him. At least, we think it's a him - looking at some pics this morning I'm now not sure.

Can't wait to meet you all :)

I was just looking for where to post pics - I'd love to know if there is a way to tell what kind of breed he could be from his colours?

The sad thing is - we now take more pics of him than of the kids!

I know what you mean. I actually have to get a mini-hd card for my smartphone because i have filled the phone with pictures of my little guy.

As far as posting pictures here, you have to upload them to a photo-hosting site like photobucket.com and then copy and paste the

Hi all!

We went to the store to get some crickets yesterday and came home with another Beardie! She's a little younger and smaller and so far she's very very black :? Am off to post just to get some reassurance that they will be ok together - I read a post on here just after we brought her home saying NEVER have more than one!?!

ALWAYS have more than one.... just NEVER house them together! LOL

Seriously though, they are very territorial, and like to be alone. If they share a viv, they're likely to fight. One will be come dominant, the other submissive, and both of them very unhappy. The dominant one might not allow the submissive one to eat or to roam freely.

When you've seen one lying on top of another, it's not actually a sign of affection, but a sign of dominance.

I hope you will be able to set up a second viv for your new little one!

Welcome to you. I just love this site and I've learned alot of very good things on here. Everyone is so nice and helpful. Too bad the people in the pet shops can't be like that. Also your little one is very cute!!
