That's great! You shared the petition page right??! I'm on my phone now so I won't be on any more tonight but that's a fantastic number of people to email in one night so maybe you could make a list so someone else doesn't email the same person?
Great. I have to admit I have already forgotten evryones names. So me and Katie wi take care of emailing people and calling people? Should I call single people or companies? By the time I get home it will be to late to call any of the companies and tomorrow is a Saturday so calling companies will have to wait till Monday but I will email them when I get home. I am on many other forums so I will tell them to. I do not think we should give to many people set jobs or else it will get to crazy.
Hey, guys. I need something to write under 'who we are' on the blog. This is what I have so far.
Fight The Silence is a band of ordinary people who feel the need to call attention to animal abuse. Specifically the neglect of animals at pet stores. Animals are constantly underfed, overcrowded, and given inadequate care in big chain pet stores like PetCo. Many are extremely young, skinny, injured, and sick. And then they are bought by people who are usually uneducated in their care. They end up making the situation even worse. One of the largest issues is MBD, a potentially fatal condition were a reptile doesn't have the proper lighting. (UVB) It pretty much turns the animal's bones into spaghetti. That is no way for an animal to live. This needs to stop. And just by you reading this is helping to end the abuse.
That's a great idea! Maybe you could sketch some ideas and take pics. Then you can post them on here and we can decide which to use.
I'll make some sketches too.
Has anyone gone to the ASPCA website? There's a link for reporting animal abuse and a small section about exotic pets.
There's also access to each state's laws regarding the exotic pet trade.
Just a thought: when communicating reptiles' mistreatment, maybe stress that while these creatures are cold-blooded and silent, they still experience pain and distress, and deserve to be cared for.
What little info the ASPCA had did seem to suggest reptiles aren't the best pets however, I thought the legal stuff might make for an interesting link.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING THE ASPCA INTO THIS. They are currently trying to ban ALL exotics because they are dangerous. OH MY GOD MY GOLDFISH IS GONNA KILL ME. The aspca is trying to even ban beardies do NOT talk to them PLEASE
