I wasn't able to go to petstore today my grandfather is in there hospital

It seems silly to ask if he's alright but I hope he recovers and is kept comfortable while in the hospital. I was never able to know my grandfather and I don't know how close the two of you are but I'll keep him in my thoughts. :(

Not sure what to think about that :? Is anyone a member of another forum where they could make a post saying what we're doing and with links to our blog, fb and petition? Or has that already been done?

And add Spain, Ukraine and Norway to the list!

I was in my local petco today and the temp in the ALL the reptile enclosures were under 80 degrees... :banghead: the bearded dragons were practically completely black. They had no UVB, and only meal worms to eat that were way to big. ( they couldnt have been more then 2 weeks old, at most. I tried to get a picture but it was much to dark and my phone camera is crappy and doesnt have flash. They also had the littlest geckos i've ever seen in my life. They looked like the had just hatched and were all laying in a puddle of water, also with the same mealworms. Also (not reptile related but) they had about 50 mice piled on top of each other in there enclosure, it ridiculous and must have been dirty and unhealthy for those mice.

I swear sometimes the little rodents looks like they're worse off then the reptiles. There's always one in every other cage that looks seriously sick or even dead already and I've seem multiple that had been bitten or scratched and were bleeding. One had had babies and one of the adults in the cage had partially eaten one of them. Probably nice for the pet store though. Buy 1 hamster and it has babies so now you get to sell those off too for some extra profit. Yippie. :(

Usually, in my area, the small mammals seem much better cared for than the reptiles. There's usually only 3-4 hamsters to a cage, and 1-2 guinea pigs (and other bigger animals). So seeing THAT many mice in one cage was really shocking. I havent seen that before around me...its usually just the reptiles being so mistreated. I really hope its not getting worse for all the animals.

Well it's good to hear they (generally) take care of the small animals. One of my pet stores does appear to do a great job with their small mammals (minus the ridiculously small cages for the bunnies and ferrets) but the other pet stores puts 10+ gerbils or hamsters together and there's always one that looks very sick or injured. That and they're always having babies! Probably nice for the pet store though, buy one and get 19 free :?

If it's for all reptiles, you could try this forum. It's a really great tortoise forum with great people. I've been on there for at least 4 years now. When I got my beardie and had questions they told me about this beardie site  They might help out!

http://www.tortoiseforum.org/index.php#axzz1SPEyAgFZ <--- That's the link to the site.

If this violates a policy about posting about another forum then I'm sorry. Not sure if we can do that or not, lol :dontknow:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
