Well, he doesn't have a name yet but I picked him up this morning, a little 4 month old 10 inch bugger that will most likely have me trained within the week. I don't have any reptile enthusiasts in my family/friend group so no ones wants to see any pictures, I'm hoping there are at least a couple people here who don't mind looking at pictures and the occasional story?

My first glimpse of the little guy1

And right after I got him out of his little baggie, his box and bath are in the background. The bath didn't happen so we'll try that for the "first" time later.

Zoomed phone camera so not the best quality...

Now remember his pretty coloring when i first got him, well he got very stressed shortly after I got him into his tank. He got so dark it's hard to believe he was the same dragon. He's basked for a couple hours since I've fed him so i went ahead and put a hide box in his cage so he can relax.

I'll post more pictures tomorrow of his cage setup and what not because it's time for work... Hopefully a few hours of peace and quite will make him feel better. His stress marks were gone when I put in the box but he was still very dark. I can't wait to hold him--- oh! Just looked over and he came out of his box already all on his own. Glad he's not going to be a hermit!

Shoot, 20 minutes to get ready... thanks for reading about my boy and I'll keep everyone updated!

Your little guy is a cutie and we all love picutres of everyone elses babies. I love his orange color, My girl is a bright orange with blue side bars. Have fun with him.

Pretty little guy, love the colors. Going dark like that is normal, he is probably just trying to warm up. I'd remove the hide box, you want him out in the open getting UVB and basking.

What a beautiful baby!
The more pictures the better!
And you're right, it doesn't take them long to train us....

Bwalter -- is your girl Booger? She is very pretty, hopefully he grows up and keeps his bars like your girl.

Gail -- Doesn't seem like he liked the hide box. Other then that initial minute that he checked it out he's hasn't seemed in the least bit interested. So even though he's stressed at least he'd rather be out in the open then hide. I'll take it out tomorrow morning, he kept scratching and headbutting his basking rock like he was trying to get under it. I folded a kitchen towel and put it in the corner of his tank. He moved it around, climbed in between the folds and I think he's out for the night. I hope he feels better tomorrow.

Esther19 -- He is! (A Daysi x Vyllyn baby) How did you know? He's not that green number one on his tail, I'm hoping it'll come off in his bath tomorrow but if not I'm sure it'll come off when he sheds.

dragonlover3 & Nicodemous -- thanks! If pictures are that powerful I better hold off posting more until he doesn't look so petrified! Every time I approached his tank to fast he'd hug his rock like I was going to snatch him up. I did take him out tonight though to try another bath (which didn't work, I need something he can't jump out of or he'll never get a proper soaking) As soon as I had his back legs in the water and the rest of him in my palm he's belly turned white again, but of course that only lasted a couple minutes before he thought he'd try and make a break for it. Someone will have to give me tips on this magic "burrito" I keep reading about.

But a couple more from tonight...
The black beard (not sure what brought it on, no one was in the room at the time).

He perked up for a bit, he got all dark again after that but it was nice to see him back to normal even if it was only for a couple minutes.

Yep, they get a bath then burrito'd, then they doze off while I sit there.
I bathe mine every night since they will not drink water, at all.

and I get to see this in the morning

Aww, how cute!

He was still sleeping after his lights came on for awhile so I took him out to wake him up, his little eyes were steuggling to open! "I don't know who you are and why your touching me but please just 10 more minutes!"

Got him warmed up and a good 15 crickets and salad in him. He puffed himself up for a littlebit, probably stretching.

He is still really dark but he seems more curious then scared. Ill try my luck at a bath tonight and maybe hold him this afternoon.

And I'm thinking he's definatly a Felix :)

A lot of Cheryl babies out there, people would sure need to know their dragon's backgrounds if they wanted to breed!

Felix has had quite the morning already. He got a name, a bath, an introduction to the dog and he tried out his hammock for the first time...

His tank. We've got about 108 on the hammock and 86ish on the cool side. Humidity currently 24%.

He was all dark and stress marked when he woke up but ate a good 15-20 crickets, some kale/collards and squash.

I gave him a 10 minute bath after he had basked for a couple hours. He went from skittish and stressed to no marks and a lot of color within a minute, looks like bath's will make good bonding time!

And photobucket will let me turn these but when i copy and paste the code it goes back to sideways, sorry!
After bath I put him on his hammock and he continued to brighten up

I read they open their mouths to release extra heat? I have never seen the inside of a lizard's mouth. I don't think I'd want to be a cricket...

As always thanks for reading, if anyone has any suggestions or picture requests just let me know! Here's the link to his photobucket album with more pictures if you're bored or curious http://photobucket.com/forfelix

Not a whole lot has happened. Felix got a bath last night and I tucked him into his blanket and he quickly fell asleep on my chest. Woke up this morning and he was still in his blanket so i held him for awhile. Yesterday he pooped once, it was disgustingly huge but at least it was easy to clean up...

He hasn't moved from his hammock since this morning, so 4-5 hours. Usually (i guess the last couple days) he's always been running all around his tank. Maybe he's just settled down and feels safer? I'll leave him alone today but if he's not moving around again by tomorrow I'll hold him or let him run around my room for a bit.

It's been a crazy couple weeks but Felix is doing great. I've got a couple great pictures to share as soon as I can get them uploaded.

I think I've created a monster though, Christmas night I was at the families house so I made sure his lights would turn off on time. Got back at 11:30 that night and he's pressed up against the glass with his eyes struggling to stay open. Little turd fell asleep the second I tucked him in by hand, like he couldn't have crawled into his blanket by himself! This has happened 4 other times when I've had to work past lights out.

Felix somehow managed to get under the shelf liner that is on the floor of the cage. I had a heart attack for 5 minutes trying to figure out how he could have gotten out of the completely secure tank. It's now taped down. His big tank is still a work in progress but he still looks fine in the 20 long, plus he gets out to run around every afternoon.

But he's pretty lazy, I think I baby him to much. If I put a bowl of dubia in his cage I pick him up and set him next to it, now he just hangs out in his hammock all day like I'll move him if anything interesting is going to happen, woops...

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
