Feeding ratio

I will be getting my first beardie soon, I'm planning on getting a juvenile. From my online research i found that people recommend 50% insects and 50% vegetables.
I'm kind of confused by this, how do i achieve this ratio ?
Do i feed 1 day veggies, 1 day insects?? (doesn't sound right)
Or first feeding veggies then second feeding crickets ??

It seems kind of weird to compare the amount of veggies to insects :?

I know I'm totally over thinking this but I want the best care possible for it.

also just to add on to that, I'm definitely buying one older than 6 months

What I do is leave a dish of veggies in his cage (changing it each day) and feed him as many crickets/roaches/etc as he can eat in one sitting.
I feed him 2-3 times a day
