I have had my juvenile beardie, Spyro, for about 10 days now. He doesn't seem very interested in hunting. I have tried crickets and mealworms. I was told that mealworms as bad due to impaction but he just doesn't seem interested in hunting the crickets down and I think superworms would be too big. He is going to the bathroom everyday and I have been misting him once or twice a day. He drinks some of the water that rolls down his face. He is mainly interested in his basking spot. He is in a 20 gallon fish tank for now with a 100w basking bulb and a desert uvb bulb. My room stays around 70 at night so I have not been using a night bulb. Oddly he eats leafy vegetables like collared greens almost everyday. I usually see him eat at least one or two crickets, usually right when I drop them in. The rest just end up crawling around and eventually dying. He ate an extra small dubia nymph and two large crickets last night but today I have only gotten him to eat a piece of collared green and a tiny bit of wet pellets. He still seems to get really stressed out when being handled. I don't think he was being fed live feeders at the store I got him from. All I seen was a bowl with that dehydrated bug/veggie mix that was moisten. Otherwise he seems healthy. He is always looking around and seems like he has filled out a little since he came home.
