feeding problem

So the other day i got some butter worms and phoenix worms in and decided to feed them to schnitzle. She has always loved phoenix worms, and has never tried butter worms. Well now my little spoiled turd wont eat crickets, and is refusing the phoenix worms. She LOVES the butter worms! She will eat her salad like theres no tomorow also. Usually a mix of collard, mustard, and dandelion greens, butternut and accorn squash. Will eat at least one, but usually 2 salads a day. So my question is, should i be concerned that she is refusing the crickets and phoenix worms? Also how many butter worms is considered normal for them to eat? She has been eating about 5 or 6 a meal. She is 4 months, 14", and 150 grams. She has been putting on weight, so I suppose she is doing fine, just was suprised by the sudden change in tastes

I love butter worms (and so does Blaze)! They are so easy to keep and Blaze takes them with gusto, but they are high in calories. I would continue to offer other proteins. That is good that she is still taking her salads (Blaze is older than yours and as she will eat some salad, she doesn't eat it that much!), so she is getting lots of nutrition. But, at her age, she should be getting more live feeders.

I feed 5 or 6 in one feeding too, but one day I fed them until she stopped (I was groveling for missing dinner the night before!) and she ate at least 15 or more. I guess I'm lucky. Blaze has taken everything that I have offered her, with the exception of mustard greens, and she has never turned down one feeder for another (except when I hide a wax worm in with butter worms, she prefers the butters - no more waxies for us!).

I would continue to try to offer different feeders, since butters aren't really that good as a staple. I only feed them 3 or 4 meals a week because they aren't the healthiest worm out there. You may have to stop feeding them all together to get her to eat something better.
