Feeding my new beardie

I have read so much but wanted to get your opinion. Our new beardie is so tiny. This is day 2 with him. He ate 2 crickets this morning but won't eat the veggies. Should I be worried? I don't want this little one getting impacted like the one we just lost

is he maybe stressed out? If you JUST got him that could be one reason he's not eating.

Yes we just got him yesterday. He ate the crickets. I am thinking he's stressed and getting used to his new home. I held him for just a few moments today I didn't want to make him more stressed. So far so good with tank temp and eating crickets and water. Hopefully he adjusts well soon.

Not an expert but I've read in many places it can take up to a week for a new beardie to overcome the stress of rehousing and not eat in that time. Don't worry too much about it.

If in 4 days it still haven't eaten, let us know.

Day 4 with us and Mario (he's finally got a name) has not eaten any veggies. He still seems aprehensive as far as bonding but it's getting better. What veggies does your beardie like and how can I get Mario to eat his veggies?

I've had my baby beardie for about a month and he loves his crickets, but he doesn't eat any veggies hardly at all. if i dont give him crickets all day, he'll pick at the veggies, but thats it.

#1 favorite veggie: butternut squash. I give it to her everyday, very finely shredded.
#2 favorite veggie: mustard greens, chopped to be small enough as space between eyes.
Other veggies she likes: carrots shredded and chopped into smaller pieces, collard greens chopped, kale chopped.

If he is a baby he should be eating 80% live food to 20% veggies. I have a baby, here is my routine.

When I get up: I let her out to cut her veggies, she usually eats a few pieces as I'm chopping it. Then I give her crickets. Any uneaten crickets go back to cricket keeper and the veggies get sprayed with water and go in the cage with her.

3-4 hours later: more crickets

3-4 hours later: more crickets, spray veggies again

Before I go to bed: more crickets.

Throughout the day she usually goes to her veggies and has a snack between meals.

Some days she'll eat more veggies and less crickets, other days more crickets and little to no veggies.

Don't worry about him not eating greens at a young age. Keep offering them in a shallow bowl daily and he should start to eat them as he gets older.

As long as he is eating plenty prey I wouldn't worry about the veg just yet.

Have you looked at the nutrition chart on the beautifuldragons website? Its a great reference of what foods to offer.

Yes I've checked out that website. I just didn't know if I should be worried just yet. I'll keep offerIng veggies to him and hope he starts liking them soon

Mine eats all the Bok Choy I give him. I am sure Kale would be great too. Nutritious for men and Dragons.
