Poor girl, some female beardies just seem to have trouble with egg laying. How is she doing now ? I never had a problem with any of mine, and they laid loads of eggs.

As for your question, I'm not familiar with using that supplement, Tracie may know have some input for you about that.

As far as I'm aware she's spent the day moping around as I had been out until the afternoon, she has eaten almost a bowl of greens though and 5 locusts, she won't eat them on her own but doesn't protest too much at me putting them in her mouth. She hasn't been as active today as yesterday but assume that's because I've been out. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day, she's due another antibiotic injection tomorrow. She's certainly been unlucky with her health, she had reoccurring respiratory infections and issues with parasites prior to laying her first clutch so she wasn't in the best of health when she started laying eggs, which Is why I think she's struggled so much.

Hello,

How is she doing today?
The L-Carnitine has shown some promise, for help with burning fat & mobilizing it.
What type are you considering getting?
I would focus on greens & veggies with a low to moderate protein intake to help her liver out right now. That way her liver doesn't have to work so hard to break down & digest any excess fats right now.
How are her colors looking, is her beard normal color & is she basking normally?

She's still a little dark all over this morning but hopefully she's just warming up, she's never really been a morning beardie. At the moment If given the chance she would sleep all day but I make her get up throughout the day so she will bask on and off. I'm not really sure which type I would get, I looked it up and there appears to be different forms and types. I've ordered serapatise and collidal silver, those should be here beginning of the week.

How did you get on with this, I have been through exactly this and came out positive. Force feeding is essential for fatty liver disease but not fattening foods the trick is to keep working the liver and to always have food in his stomach to keep the liver processing the best thing is a varied diet but first of all the aim is to get him eating himself again

let me know how you are getting on and I will go through a step by step process and also point you to some supplements my dragon got his through same reasons as you constant RI when younger then fattyliver and I believe to this day it was all the antibiotics

Hi, she's not to bad, the fluid was infected but after a few months of fortum injections every couple of days is finally cleared, we also have a definite diagnosis of secondary fatty liver disease, she's currently of all meds but I'm continuing with the force feeding (she won't eat herself) she has a few size 3 locusts a day and the rest is staple greens daily, she's kept her body condition and mainly remains active, apart from the lack of appetite and fluid you wouldn't know she was poorly. I would really appreciate a step by step, I do wonder if I'm doing it right. She does have colloidal silver, serapetesse and milk those daily aswel as repro boost and critical care.

Glad to here antibiotics are done with so now is the time to get the liver going again. I will note I had all the same concerns as you with the high protein content of critical care and that you expect the opposite whem treating liver disease

First of all you are doing a great job but you are maybe doing a bit much considering she wont eat by her self which mine was the exact same and it seemed never ending. Eating is all about stimulation and the fact you are force feeding lives aswell as greens she wont ever eat by herself because she is never hungry the information im going to give you is what my vet did with me

step 1

My dragon was 500 grams and I gave 5mls of critical care a day and nothing else at a ratio of one scoop of critical care to 4 scoops of water mix and syringe I gave the full 5ml in one sitting this is important as its time to destress your dragon and get her on the mend without much fuss the critical care is just to kepp hydrated and keep the liver working high protein is important with treating fatty liver

Always leave veg in tank as usual but try you best just to leave her alone as the critical care is enough

step 2

Do the critical care for one full week with veg in tank dont worry if she doesnt eat it in the second week every second day offer her live feed without forcing this is important as its all about stimulation and if you offer everyday she will just get used to seeing it I bought different bugs for mine to help stimulate apetite if in week 2 she eats any bugs then only give the critical care on the days she doesnt eat anything and if she still doesnt eat dont worry it took up until week 3 for my dragon to finally eat a bug on his own

I will continue this shortly

Are you in the uk?

I looked at you pics you dragon is in a far healthier state than mine was so id imagine yours will eat pretty quickly if you start this ragime. When I was struggling I done the same as you fed as much as I could by forcefeeding it wasnt until my vet said to me if someome force fed you all your meals why would you bother eating and when would you be hungry

Make sure also that the 5ml feeds are at the same time everyday

Step 3 which was weeks 3 for me I could finally lay off the critical care only give on the days he never ate any live foods, you are in a better position than me as yours eats veg so by this stage always offer dark leafy greans good for the liver and I should note do not give any artificial store bought biscuits or anything amd miss out the sugars like fruit as these hinder the liver.
Also I had to give a liver supplement vet gave me each day for about 4 months then every second day for a further 4 months it was liquid milk thistle at 0.2 ml a day I added this to his single 5ml dose of critical care each day as he hated the taste but didnt mind when it was mixed

I cant state enough how important it is for a few weeks to have minimum contactso that they develope there own routine again and feel at ease I questioned everything my vet told me about the critical care and I believed at the time he was wrong because I googled everything and there is so much conflicting information but my dragon is proof it works and at the start my dragon was so ill he wouldnt lift his head if you click on my profile and scroll down to fatty liver disease help you will be able to read my issues and also on page 2 before and after pictures of how how the treatment worked in a short few weeks but I will stress it takes a couple of years good diet to rid of it but it only takes a couple of months to get your dragon to a point its not an issue for you or him and at that time the critical care is no more :)

I will also note that I dont discount what others have said about the high protein my vet just stated thats its important for the early stages of treatment to keep the liver working and the protein was crucial to keep the liver working at fullsteam allthe time because if the liver gets to much rest with fatty liver thats whem cirrhosis starts but 5ml of critical care at the correct dilution was enough to prevent all this

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
