Fattening Up A Beardie

Just start with a few superworms and work your way up. They need to get use to them.

Superworms are fine for beardies as long as the beardie is at minimum 16 inches long. There are places that sell small superworms, but I wouldn't start your beardie on them until you are sure that there are no digestion issues as they do have a hard shell. All of my dragons (except my 2 month old) are on supers. And they have been gaining weight like crazy.

Like you said, superworms are good for helping with weight, just make sure a balanced diet with veggies and other live prey is provided as well. Once you've got the diet under more control, I'd say you could start offering some smaller superworms and see how it goes. They are softer bodied than meal worms, so they usually don't pose too much of a digestion problem. Just keep an eye on things, and hopefully it'll work itself out. Keep up posted!
