Well my first atempt at a Fake rock wall......... I just used the same products listed in the other posts.
*Polystyrine- cut into shape
*Hot glue Gun- to stick on extra pieces for ledges
*Expandable foam - to fill in the gaps
*Tile grout- 1st layer mixed with water quite runny, 2nd mixed with water but not as runny,3rd a little thicker,4th about the consistancy of toothpaste and make sure EVERYTHING is covered well.Layers left to dry over night all except the first as the first layer dried farely quick.
*PVA glue, non toxic water resistant- 1st layer mixed with water,2nd mixed with water but not as much and 3rd just plain PVA,first and second layers done in the same day, last coat the day after.
Dried rock solid.
Add bits and pieces as decoration. Thats it!
The hardest part was waiting for things to dry, as i wanted it finished and in the tank asap Lol. But it was worth the wait ( well for a first try that is). To be honest i like the look better when it hasnt got the sealer on....wondering if i could have gottton away with not so many layers of the PVA???
I didnt get the first stages on camera as i forgot about taking pics until i had started the expandable foam!
