eye question

My oldest dragon (about 9-10 years) won't open his eye. His right eye was lost before we bought him, so he only has sight in one eye. I have taken him to the vet 2 times and he can't find anything wrong with it. No discharge, no foreign object, no scratch or anything. The vet put him under both times and opened the eye and it looks fine. It isn't swollen or leaking. His behavior is the same, he's still eating (hes hand fed anyways) and wanders all over) Just curious if anyone has had this experience..

Hi there, could you fill us in on the brand & type of UVB you're using and also, what is the distance of it to your beardie? What type of substrate is on the bottom of the tank, I'm asking because I'm wondering if sand or something similar is getting in his eye.

The bulb is T Rex (I think thats the brand) mercury vapor bulb. Its about 12 in. from beardie.. We dont have a substrate..It is usually a sheet on the bottom (he loves crawling around in it) or reptile carpet... The beardies aren't fed in their cages.

I forgot to add that the vet has given me a gel to put daily in his eye..of course i'm at work right now so I don't know what the name of it is.

Just wanted to say he still hasn't opened his eye...

I just bought a dragon 2 weeks ago and she is doing the same thing.(she is 9 weeks old) One eye closed for the past three days. I used a wet cotton swab to mildly brush the area and it will sometimes open when she looks for food but other than that she is constantly winking. IDK whats up.

Im using a Powersun 100w about 13 inches from her and i get the same thing. Hopefully it gets better

my dragon is 9 - 10 years old. he won't let you open his eye at all..the vet actually had to put him under to open it. everything else is ok with him...there is nothing new..the vet suggested a trauma - like he might have run into something..but no swelling -- he still bug eyes and walks around like nothing is wrong..he eats like a champ, so I don't know....
