Yea I would take him regardless of what the owner thinks!! Just make sure you document it that way when they get back then you can work out something from there with them!! I would Pm one of the moderators on this!! Maby they can shed some light on the subject!! ether way Good luck!!!

again, thanks to everyone. I am signing off and probably will not be able to check much tomorrow. I will definitely post the results sometime over the weekend. It is obvious that everyone that responded really loves and understands pet owners and how much we care for our buddies.

Wow that is a very large mass, that cannot feel comfortable.
I would take him to the vet regardless of what the family says. Since they are unreachable, that is just too bad. They left him in your care & he obviously needs to be looked at. I am glad you are taking him in on saturday.
It looks very much like an abscess because of the color since it is black. It could be necrotic tissue possibly. It will need to be cut off especially if there is infection in that. A cricket could have initially bit him to have caused such an infection of that magnitude.
He is eating pretty well right now?

Hi to everyone. I wanted to post an update. We took Cedric, the Bearded Dragon that we are sitting for, to the vet. The vet said it was a tumor, although it is unknown if it is benign or malignant and she wouldn't know unless it was biopsied. We are unable to reach the family for 2 weeks unfortunately. This is so hard for me to watch the poor guy. The vet said it was not life and death, at this point. So, we just have to wait until the family returns from France. We have emailed them, but they haven't responded. We don't want to get into trouble with the family. If we pay to have the tumor removed and THEY didn't want us to, then we could be in trouble. So, we are going to wait for them. THe vet seemed to feel that was reasonable. So, I thank everyone for their thoughts and concerns.

Now, we are going to a Reptile Show and buy our own baby beardie. Caiteli
