Escaping?

Lately my beardie has been running around the cage getting on top of things it looks like he is trying to get out of the cage. I have a 40 gallon tank for a beardie who is 8 to 10 inches long including his tail I have had him since august. He has a log that goes right up to his lights so its not like he is trying to get closer to those. I dont get it, he has a hammock ceramic tile I feel like I have given him everything and at high quality but he must not like it? Any thing can help.

I handle him every day some days he runs away form me some days he doesnt. Once I pick him up he is fine he has only jumped and ran twice.
