Had my post op check up today. Have a lot of corneal swelling which is to be expected and still partially dialated which should go away. The new lens in my eye is still in place and the incision is healing nicely already. I go back next week and then in a month for a checkup. Then I can order my new glasses to the right prescription for my new eye.
Emmett, Emma and Emilo have had their schedules this week turned upside down. They are doing ok all things considered. Just fed them all. They got up late today, very early yesterday so I now need to get them back on schedule. I snuggled them when I got home about an hour or so ago and Emmett loved his snuggles and pets. Emma was more interested in watching Emmett than getting to much snuggle time in.
I am still tired but at least I am not in pain just itchy where all the tape was for my eye patch thing. I was so glad to get rid of that thing and now only have to put it back on to sleep for the next week so I don't scratch my eye while sleeping. Its nice to see without that thick haze I was looking through. Nap time for me..these appts wear me out,
I'm so glad you're healing so well, you'll have your new glasses in a month but meanwhile, without the haze, you're already seeing better. So glad to hear it!
Big snuggles to Emmett and Emma, not sure if Emilio is up for snuggles, though
This is how good I feel today but still not pushing it.
Emma and Emmett have had their food, their salads, their bathes and their houses cleaned from top to bottom. All new paper towels under their freshly washed tiles and furniture. Taking a break then Emilio gets his house clean from top to bottom and fresh bugs and salad for him. I am pooped, but they are worth every bit of it, my little snuggle bugs.
Doing their laundry <bedding, stuffies, and stuff> so their tanks look a little sparse.
Emma is so tiny still but eats like a pig, drank a ton of water from her bath today,
Emmett is looking rather daper and handsome in his clean tank. He too, drank a ton of water in his bath today.
Emilio is getting his cage cleaned next but have to take a break, I cant push it yet but it will be done today. Filled his mister with all fresh distilled water so he is happy.
Just finished Emilio's cage cleaning..all his vines, sticks and logs plus the bottom. He is a pooing machine I tell ya  Now to fix salads for them all. I am tired!
That's great that everything is healing nicely. You'll be able to get a new pair of glasses soon enough, then you'll be able to get back to creating wonderful things again.
I went for my one week check and everything is good so far. I go back the 18th for my final checkup on the eye then I am done.
The 3 Ems are doing really well and Emma just got over a partial shed and still has a bit more on her head to go. Emilio is shedding yet again! Emmett has decided when his bedtime will be and will go crawl up on his bed, get comfy and wait for me to cover him up and turn out his lights. if I don't keep up with when he is ready for lights out I get bad stink eye from him. Gotta love them and their attitudes.
Now for the sad part of my post. I read an article where a woman had a beardie that had a huge mass wrapped around its tail. Instead of taking the lizard to the vet, she decided to amputate his tail herself, her excuse being she could not afford a vet. She cut up into the fatty part of his tail then put alcohol on it. Poor beardie must have been in horrendous pain. A friend of hers I think it was reported her and the beardie was taken to the vet where he succumbed to his tail amputation. She is facing cruelty to animal and neglect charges. I see on here at times if someone can preform an amputation to a tail with rot or injury. I see some say yes and see more say no. If you cannot afford vet care for any animal, then do not get one. This poor beardie suffered. I don't get people that are not experienced or licensed to preform any surgery on any animal and I am glad they are cracking down on this sort of thing.
She was on our group on Facebook "for love of bearded dragons" a rescue group. If we'd known this beardie was in this bad shape we would have done something to get her to a person who could have taken her to the vet, even helped with the vet bills a bit (we have a fund that we use to help with rescuing dragons). So there is absolutely no excuse for this woman's behaviour. She did get reported to Animal Control, there was an investigation and she was cited. Not sure if only fined or jail time. Her excuse was she had 3 children. This dragon's tail bulge had been growing for two years, so she had absolutely no excuse for what she did. She has another dragon, I'm hoping it will be taken away from her and given to a good forever home. She is the epitome of what not to do with your dragons, that poor dragon was malnourished and dehydrated before they did that.
I'm glad your eye is doing well, Tonja, hope the next appt goes just as well!
And we all know how well cared for your three are.
I just posted on my thread about the issues with Imp.
My eye is fine and I can see better without my glasses than I can with them. Got a nasty cold now go figure but its being taken care of with Nyquil, Dayquil, Tylenol and lots of rest. Got a foot of white stuff yesterday through last night so hubby took the day off to snow blow. Its nasty outside.
Emmett, Emma and Emilio are doing really well. Emma is in a shed and Emmett has a spot on his head getting ready to shed. I wanted to give Emmett and Emma baths today but cant due to the cold. I wont risk it. Getting a new digital camera on Thursday so be prepared for lots of pictures. My point and shoot just isn't doing it for me anymore so got a digital 35 mm canon with lots of accessories in the way of lenses. I cant wait to get good photos finally of the 3 Ems.
So glad to hear that your eye is healing well, and especially that you can see better without wearing glasses.
Sorry you're suffering with a cold. Hope it won't last long.
Have you considered getting a surgical-type mask so you won't pass along any germs to the three Ems? At least you'll still be able to interact with your babies.
Woohoo on a new digital camera! Did you get the one with the video option?
