Elvis's official thread!

Well, as alot of you know by now, I have had a rough few weeks with Elvis. First, it was thought to be a neurological disorder, but the vet didnt sound very convincing. $113, I talk to Tracie and he is believed to have MBD. I am ordering liquid calcium, and am hoping for an improvement!
Since everyone on this site has been so supporting and wanting to know updates, I've decided to start him his own thread, with his stories, my questions, and pics.

TODAY:
Elvis had turkey babyfood for the first time (he has had a low appitite) he loved it! So a lunch of sweet potatoes, a dinner of turkey and worms, and a warm bath, he was a happy beardie! He had some free roaming and snuggling, and is now basking before bed.
Well, I have to go. My 3 year old brother and 11 year old sister are killing eachother! And im in charge here!

So glad to hear that Elvis ate some baby food and worms for you. Hope the liquid calcium will do wonders for his MBD and reverse it completely.

Hi guys! Elvis is doing good. He LOVES his turkey baby food! I've been sneaking in his viatmins, even tho i get the famous death glare :twisted: its kinda said watching him walk, sometimes he falls over and I feel soo bad but I was wondering, is it normal for beardies to drool in their sleep? when I wake him up in the morning, he has drool all down is chin. Its kinda gross.

Well Elvis is sitting next to me now, and boy am I getting the death glare! We were just outside, but it was really windy so I brought him in. I am just SO mean :wink: Well, lately, he has been OBSESSED with licking, licking me, licking the table, licking my blanket..do they sense anythig with licking? Well, someones waiting for his dinner! I ordered the liquid calcium from Tracie today, so hopefully I will be getting that soon and we will be seeing an improvement with this little dude.
Oh, and somebody *Elvis* wont eat his salads anymore because of the babyfood, so anyone know how to ween him off and how much baby food he should be getting a day? And just how healthy is the baby food for him?

Hi all,
Elvis is doing great! Sorry I havent updated recently, soccer just started and Ive been busy with that, school, and all my animals Well, Elvis got the banana liquid calcium, and hes had two doses, and he LOVES it! The syringe is full of bite marks, and when he finishes he looks at me like "thats all I get?!" He had superworms yesterday, and he's a little iffy on those, but I'll think he'll end up liking it.
Well, I just got back from a soccer game, so I have to do my homework and eat dinner and feed the impatient turtles. But, I have pics I will be posting very soon

Hi all,
GUESS WHO CAN EAT CRICKETS AGAIN! Elvis can! Needed to get him something to hold him over then worms, and I had to get crickets for the frogs, so the person working there (a nice girl named Rebecca, knows a TON bout animals and actually the right care, going to school to be a reptile vet and studies reptile behavior) convinced me to get him some crickets to help prove its MBD (she thinks it is too) because she said if its not a nuerilogical disorder then his brain should still be triggered by movement and hunting, so I got him 8 large crickets, and put one in his cage and he chased it and got it! He chased 2 more, but then I think he got tired (thats a workout for him, since hes started walking worse he doesnt move much) but when the crickets walked in front of him he snatched them and ended up eating all 8 in 10 minuets! Rebecca also told me that when her beardie wasnt eating his salad, she got a vibrating bowl that moves the salad around to make it look alive. So I'm going to pick one of those off and start to slowly wean him off babyfood.

Kaitlyn, congrats on finally finding something that Elvis will/wanted to eat! What great news to report!
Hopefully he'll continue to eat live feeders and regain his strength back soon.

Yes, I'm hoping! I see an improvement every day! I am now weaning him off his babyfood, I have been chickening out on it because I didnt want him to go hungry, but I didnt give him babyfood for 2 days (he had crickets) but yesterday he ate a little salad! (and ofcourse made a big mess out of it :roll: ) But now I guess its better for him to eat salad, and hes not gunna let himself starve with a fresh salad sitting in his tank.
