Dude! That is pretty Sweet! And Very time consuming from the look's of it!
I would just be worried about the Weight!!! Have you like reinforced the inside of stand under the Enclosure floor to prevent any cave in's or break's from all the weight on it?

It is pretty heavy indeed, but the insides are styrofoam so that reduces the weight a bit.
I've used a 18mm plywood board where the entire pyramide site on, that's easier for transportation and stability.
And I'm currently working on the layer wich can be seperated from the bottom half, I will incorporate a 18mm plywood board in there for strength. I also used 2 solid pieces of Marl in the middle of the pyramide ( you can see them in the picture ) where the top half can rest on.

I really don't think it will cave in with these precautions :)

This type of rock is used to build homes, so they are pretty sturdy, as long as it's treated against water/moist. That's where the parquet-sealant comes in.

The pyramide is almost done!

Every block has been cemented together.

The top half can be seperated for better cleaning and in case of emergencies.

I still have to finish some work on the side and the styrofoam as you can see here. It needs to be sealed.

The first of two/three layers of parquet-sealant!
Unfortunatly I ran out... I had just enough for the bottom part. The brittle nature of the stone soaks up all the sealant, I'm gonna need a large can of this stuff haha.

It's still pretty wet in this picture, it won't keep this "wet-look", it will lighten up a bit.

Wow that is coming along GREAT! I did a very basic rock background out of foam and sealed it with grout with some color mixed in. As a weekend only project, that took me a few weeks. I cant imagine how much time you've put into this. It will definitely look amazing once it's done. Well worth the time I'm sure.

Can't wait to see it completed with your beardy in it.

I can't wait too haha! I'm still waiting for the eggs to hatch at some various breeders, so I can go and choose a new beardie!

I worked for about 2 weeks on this pyramid so far, I would've been done already if I had more time each day, because most days I only had like 1,5 hour time with a lot of time needed for preparation and cleaning afterwards... 1 weekend day of 6 hours gets more done than 5 weekdays of 1,5 hour each.
I can see how you miscalculated the time needed for your project, it gets out of hand very quickly haha, and with the grout, you can only do 1 layer each day, so that's already 4 days grouting hehe.

aaaaaaaaaanywaaaayyyyyyyyy, I shot a picture of the dried parquet-sealant layer, this will roughly be the finished colour :)

Thanks!

I like doing this kind of stuff, so maybe I could do some smaller project for paying customers ;) First I'll finish this one and we'll see about that later!

All of this looks amazing! Loving the eye of Rah, Ankh, and the pyramid. Can't wait to see the entire enclosure finished, how is the hieroglyph wall coming?

Still haven't started on that wall...
I'm still working on the pyramid, the 2 parquet-sealant layers are done, only some minor things to do, like grout the backside so no insects can hide there.

More pictures tonight :)

I started with the hieroglyph wall, it's going very smoothly so far :)

First I draw the outlines and then carve it out. For some of the more difficult glyphs I print them out, cut 'em out and trace the outlines.

I've almost finished the back wall, sadly the battery died on the last piece haha, I'll finish that tonight and start with the parquet-sealant.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
