Caesar is now almost 2 years old. Has started eating more veggies than live food already. For the first 2 years he would eat seldomly out of the bowl only when he was very hungry. I moved him into a larger viv and crickets could hide easier and fed all crickets by hand, these days he eats pretty much nothing out of his bowl only from me. I even have to shake his veggies around with my hand to get him to eat from it. What can i do here? I spoiled him to much. The vibrating dish wouldnt help because he will only eat from my hand or the feeding tongs.

Hello :). That tends to be an issue when you hand feed your beardie. I have to had feed my female greens because she won't eat them from her bowl. I also sometimes put them in random places like her basking spot or her log and she will eat them

Well see it wouldnt bother me to hand feed, thats no big deal. But im trying to get him ready for when i leave this summer for a week i want to be able to make it easier for whoevers watching him. Im trying to get him on pellet food with crickets/veggies and i need him to be able to eat from his dish. If i load him up with a bunch of crickets and veggies im sure the pellet food will get him through a week no problem. Looks pretty healthy for him from reading the ingredients on the back. Early he went and ate some but i think its only cuz the grape was in there. I think thats what im going to do is just mix in his greens and delicious smelling fruits. Raspberrys are his fav. Same way i traied him to drink from his tiny bowl i through a smushed berry in there. i hope it works out.

I would put the food in the bowl. If he doesn't eat for a couple days no big deal. He will get hungry and come eat the food.

What's your take on pellet food? I've heard no bad things just not used as the only source of food.

Mine hate pellet food. Neither one will touch it. I know a lot of people use it because they think it is easier. I personally just use fresh greens and feeders everyday.

As do I and will continue to do so. I want to get him to accept it so I can keep some around for emergencies and trips where I get a beardiesitter. Thanks for ur input. y

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
