Eating from a feeder dish..

As common amongst the majority of bearded dragons, mine shows no interest in live food unless it is really active. I feed him super worms and have a dish deep enough to put a bunch in there with a ledge so they cannot crawl out. Since there are so many places for them to squirm away and hide letting them loose inside of his main tank outside of a dish is not a viable option. They will simply hide until they die. My question is will my dragon eventually recognize the dish that he eats out of and go and look inside of it to see them moving around? Because unless he actually goes and looks inside of it, he cannot see in it. I put him right in front of it every time we fill it up with worms and place it in the same part of the tank. Please let me know if there's something I should do or just give him time to learn.

Hello,

Is the dish to where he can peer down into it from his basking platform or basking area? If he can visually see it from above, that will increase his liklihood of eating out of it if he can watch the worms while he is basking.
Try that & let me know how it goes.
Though some will eat out of a feeding dish while others just wont.

Hi,

My beardie eats her roaches out of a metal tray which she can see from above, she has started to recognise every time I put the tray in now she knows its feeding time!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
