dubia food question

Well i got my dubia roaches today and am amazed how many can fit in a small box..lol

quick question...for feeding i just used ground up dog food and water gel crystals. I put them both onto the top of lid to a plastic butter container. Can the babies climb that plastic and get to the food? or should i change it out?

I use the same kinds of lids and have not had any problems. Just make sure that you keep their food and water completely seperate. If you don't mold will grow and that can wipe your colony out in no time at all.

Also put a half of an orange in once a week! It will make them breed better!! Good luck...

I am totally w/ this. I keep produce in w/ all my colonies 24/7. Aside from their chow.... Feed them as much produce as possible! They absolutely FLIP for Oranges though. Mine just killed a whole Watermellon yesterday. I mean the whole dam thing! Seeds... gone, Watermellon meat.... history, Rinds.... right down to where they were as thin as paper! They seem to like Fruit a whole lot better as well. Although they'll plow thru Broccoli, carrots, and certain types of leafy lettuces w/ ease.
