We are going to start out Dubai colony to get away from these stupid crix and my question is where do you all get your egg crates for the totes?

Several board sponsers sell egg crates, theroachguy.com, and bestroach.com (me) come to mind. If you need larger quantities, check eggboxes.com. Note though, that 70 egg crates is a ton....and would last the average roach colony 30 years :shock:

Not sure why i am so excited to bring roaches into my house but at this point anything to get the crickets out and stop having to rely on the people to stop shipping me frozen crix, lol

Friends and Family and all of their friends and family and so on. I just let a few people know to save their egg crates for me. Most of the ones I get are the 18 egg packs but those seem to work great slightly modified. I just tear off the lid and the little tab in the front and Presto all the free egg cartons I could ever use slightly narrower then the 30 egg pack, but just as good, if not better, because its free.

This also works great for Paper towel tubes; but not so well with Toilet paper Tubes. I don't know, the more I thought about the toilet paper tube and where they were coming from

you should only need 5 to 6 egg creates to set up your colony and that would be enough for thousands of dubia to live on. you should only have to change them out maybe 3 times a year until your colony is up in the ten thousand range then i would do it ever quarter whish is 4 times a year.

I went to a local reptile shop that gets a lot of crikets and asked if the had any eggcrates guy gave me like ten of them.

i got mine from eggboxes.com, it was 26bucks for 70 and i think im going to have enough egg crates to last me for some time.
