dracos 11 months and about a week. he eats a few grasshoppers a day and i feed him squash and a mixture of veggies. i can usually coax him into eating 5 crickets, and if he's in a good mood he will eat up to 20. but im just worried that he isnt getting enough on a day to day basis. he loves the squash and grasshoppers.

How long have you had Draco? If he is new i would say maybe he is not eating much because of relocation stress. if not i agree with the pst above, worms are the way to go. they have a lot more "meat" ratio and beardies love to watch them wiggle. silkworms would also be a great feeder to try!

I've had draco for probably about 7 months,so it can't be relocation stress. I've tried mealworms with him a few times, the last time a few days ago, but I'm not sure where to get any other type of worm.

Most pet stores can order them in for you, even if they don't carry them on their shelves. I just put in an order for some butter worms. You can also order them online.

Melaworms are probably not the best choice for your guy due to their hard shells, however all of the other worms suggested can be ordered online and they are relatively inexpensive. Butterworms are probably at the top of list when it comes to expense because you can store them in the fridge and you don't have to feed them. Phoenix worms and silkies can be bought in bulk so you have plenty at one time. But depending on how much your dragon eats, you could go through them quickly. We actually have what we call the "worm bar" (as opposed to salad bar) for our dragons that we alternate with the crix so they don't get bored. The bar consists of Superworms, Hormworms, silkies and for that extra special treat once a week, Waxworms. Eventually I'd like to wean my dragons off of crix all together because the hormworms and supers get so big that you can feed them very few to fill them up and not spend a ton of money.

We get our supply at Mulberry Farms, but there are several other reputable sites that you can order from. Just type in any one of the worms in the search field on the web and just about all of these place sell all of the types of worms.

Waxworms, unfortunately, are not a good staple for your little guy either. They are too fatty and have no real nutritional value. They are OK as a once in a while treat, but too many over a long period of time will not be beneficial to your beardie.

I'm not sure which of the live feeder sites ship to the UK. If you look at a few of them on the web they should tell you, or even if you look through this particular forum, you should be locate a few topics on the subject. There are several members from the UK and I know that they are providing multiple varieties of worms to their beardies.

I wish I could provide you with more specifics, but I am at a loss. :(

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
