Hi there! This is the official thread for Dora and her adventures. :) Dora is about 4 months old as I type this (her hatch date was 9/15/09), and approximately 9 and 1/4 inches long. I don't know her weight, though. I bought Isadora from Timothy Truex, and I've gotta say that she is a beauty. So friendly, and she loves to cuddle, which something Ferdinand, my late buddy, was never into.

I've got some photos for today. :D She's shedding her tail right now. I keep finding loose scales, blech.

Those last two are my favorite. :>

Haha, I'll see what I can do. :D These were actually taken by my mom. She just bought an amazing new camera and wanted to test it out on Dora. I'm pretty sure most other photos won't be quite as nice.

No pics tonight, sorry. :( But news! You get news. Delicious, scary news.

Auuugh, guys, I'm terrified. I'm taking Dora to the vet tomorrow. As you can read here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=120784&hilit= there is some trouble afoot in Isadora's tummy. The question is if there's anything wrong with her kidneys. She's been having harder than normal urates and today she had a dark yellow urate with orange tinges in it. :S This could mean something really bad, so I made an appointment as soon as I could. Hopefully she's okay...

I'd have to take her to a vet for a regular check-up anyway eventually, so I'm going for the full check up and possibly a fecal exam. All of this together is going to cost me $110.00. But I'd rather pay 40 bucks for a fecal and find out she's okay instead of not knowing and finding her dead. Honestly, truly. I didn't have a chance to act with Ferdinand's sudden illness and death, and I'll be d*mned if I let my baby girl suffer through the same thing.

Woohoo! Happy International Fake Mustache Day! I've had one on most of the day-- and I've gotta say, it's been a hoot watching peoples' reactions. :D Most people don't say anything, but I've seen an awful lot of smiles. A couple people have made comments, such as "That's a good look for you." It keeps my upper lip warm in this cold weather, too!

Isadora was a little surprised at seeing her mommy with facial hair, but quickly adapted. She licked it a couple times and tried to climb on it, but I was having none of that. She settled for posing like a good little dinosaur on my shoulder.

We're still waiting to hear back from the vet about her blood tests (she might have the adenovirus) so in the meantime I'm to give her shots every three days of an antibiotic in case that helps. She seems to be doing pretty well-- active and eating well-- and I'm hoping that the tests come back negative. If they're positive, I'm going to notify the breeder I got her from. Adenovirus is only transferable through other reptiles, and she's never had any contact with others while I've owned her. Thus, other animals of his may have the virus.

Eeeee! The tests came back from the vet, after waiting 3 weeks! She's negative for the adenovirus  , but the vet still wants me to continue with the antibiotics. Just thinking about what this virus could do was making me feel a little nauseous, so I'm incredibly relieved that she doesn't have it.

I have a bit of an anxiety problem at the moment-- I'm on Ritalin to help me focus in school; unfortunately, I'm also weaning myself off of Prozac. The Prozac was helping the anxiety and some depression, and the doc and I thought I was okay, which is why we started weaning me. But it's not going so well... I get crazy nervous about everything. My brother's bar mitzvah is this weekend, and Virginia is anticipating so much snow that we had to rent out a room for two nights at the hotel our relatives are staying at. We actually had to transfer all the prayer books and a Torah there, too! Isadora's going to be staying with a trustworthy friend of mine during this time, but she has two inquisitive cats and three dogs, so I'm worrying about that a bit. We bought heat packs in case the power goes out, and I'm making a massive salad and bringing her crickets. Everything should be fine. It's all the what-ifs that are worrying me. :banghead:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
