dont know what to do..help i have an emergency

my son got this beardie from a guy he knows. well it looks horrible..looks malnurished. its lower jaw seems to extend out more than the top jaw and its tongue is always hanging out. when i give it water it drinks but its tongue looks very large compared to the beardie i have. it runs around but looks so thin, we found out that all it has been eating when this guy had it was lettuce and fruits..no worms or crickets. please anyone tell me what i need to do and why does its tongue look so large and what is the deal with its jaw..is that normal. i need lots of help and info.

Hello,

Is this your first bearded dragon? If so, do you have a setup for him, including proper UVB lighting & heating with the basking light setup?
The reason his jaw juts out or is deformed is most likely due to metabolic bone disease caused from improper or lack of UVB lighting & calcium supplementation.
If you will post a picture of him, & what your setup is, we will help you get everything all corrected for him.
If he is that thin, you will need to go very slowly with protein. What foods do you have for him?
I would start with a mixture of water, pedialyte, squash babyfood, & greens' mixture such as collard or mustard greens. Blend it up to make it smooth & put in a small pinch of calcium & vitamins for him. Use a plastic dropper or syringe to get him to eat or drink it. Once he has started having normal stools, which should probably take at least a week or so, then you can start giving more protein. We need to make sure he is hydrated & his kidneys are working well enough to metabolize protein well enough.
