My beardie, Barbudo, is 1-2 years old an approx. 17". When I have him out again, I'll really measure him and post it on here.
Bugs:I have been feeding him crix and mealies (from Fluker Farms). 1" crix and 1/2" mealies. I have been feeding him about 20 crix and 15 mealies a day (I know they're high in fat and chitin, but they are so small compared to him).
Salads:Salads are always available; mostly collards, some kale, and one or two of the following: chopped carrots, green cabbage, green beans (chopped), and rarely frozen mixed veggies. Once I run out I get a totally new variety of greens (I follow the Beautiful Dragons Nutrition guide). I dump excess salad every 24 hours and replace it, usually a few hours before bug feeding. I mist it about twice a day, since he won't drink from an eye dropper. He usually eats most of his salad.
Supplementation: I keep his crix in a large bin with a screen top. I fill a smaller container with 40-50 crix and dust them with Rep-Cal Phosphorous-Free Calcium with D3 and Rep-Cal Herptivite. I dust them with calcium 3x per week and Herptivite once a week. The dusted crix last around 2 days.
I did all of my research and more, so I'm not concerned. I just want to double check with you guys. Does this sound like an ok schedule? I have read so much about feeding, but actually doing it is a much different ordeal.
I also have a question about the supplements: How covered should the crickets be? I've been doing it so that they are totally/visibly covered, and get powder on my fingers when I pick them up. Is this ok for Budo, or is too much concentrated supplements bad?
