Toni has pinworms and other protozoa in her system. The vet prescribed her .35 ml of Albon and .2ml of panacur. She didn't see coccida in Toni's fecal, but decided to do it for safety measures. A previous vet had prescribed it to Tommy and Toni on Monday before Tommy passed. So I guess she thought it would be a good idea for her to keep taking it. Toni has to take the Albon for seven days and the panacur for five, off a week, and then five more days. Toni weighs .340. I'm going today to get some soy yogurt for her tummy.

Do you know what kind or protozoa - the dosagages can vary depending on the protozoa found. but .35 sound about right to me. Pat is on .6 ML right now but he's 550 grams.

It sounds about right to me - Pat it 550 grams and gets .6 my experience is that .1ml per 100 grams is typical but I'm not an expert just from my personal experience it seems right. I have had higher dosages reccomended for specific protozoa in out box turtle but never in the lizards.
Hope this helps

That's a Tracie question. I would pm her she's drache613. The dosage depends on the weight of your dragon. I didn't answer because I wouldn't know the right answer.

Hello,

That dosage is correct, assuming the concentration of the Albon is a 5% solution. The dosage of .35ml is a 50mg/kg dosage.
The Panacur is somewhat correct, assuming the concentration is a 10% solution/paste. The dosage given is a little higher than 50mg/kg. Technically, at 50mg/kg it should be .17ml but he rounded it up.

Good you will be giving soy yogurt for him, that should help him out. Also, make sure you give extra oral fluids as well while he is especially on the Albon.

I've been feeding her baby food (and of course her other foods) as well as giving her a good soak at night. Should I be spraying her as well? I read on here somewhere that the baby food helps keep them hydrated as well. Also, she hasn't pooed since Tuesday. She's eating okay...losing a little interest...but I didn't know if any of this was due to the medication? I know it can cut down on appetite, but what about bowel movements?

Hello,

Yes, medication can affect their GI tract which will promote constipation if the motility is slown down. Dehydration is a huge factor when they are on medication so giving extra oral fluids will help greatly.
We don't recommend misting them in their tanks because it can cause mold or mildew issues. If you mist her, you can mist her outside of her tank, or bathe her.

I hope she is doing better today.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
