Hi, my name is Jimmy. I am going to be getting a bearded dragon soon and I made a a care sheet of general rules to follow. I was wondering if i could get a second opinion on this:

Heat
Basking temp around 98-105 degrees
Ambient temp around 78-84
Night temp 67-72
Water
A small water or/and have a mister to mist the tank
Humidty
35-40%
Food (supplement)
Babies/Juvies - Calcium 5x per week and Vitamins 2x per week
Adult - Calcium 3x per week and Vitamins 1-2x per week
Gravid female - as baby/juvie
Sick beardie - depends on the illness - I have a severely anemic beardie who, when his anemia flares up, needs vitamin supplements 4-5x per week
Food (Quantity)
Dubia
Hatchlings (<7") eat about 15-25 (<1/4") nymphs twice a day.
Juveniles (8-12") eat around 25 (<1/2") nymphs twice a day.
Sub-Adults (12-18") eat 10 (1") nymphs twice a day.
Adults (>18") eat 3-5 (2") adult males a day.
Plus salad and Supers
Cricket
As many as he can eat in 15/20 mins x twice a day
Generally feed 20-35 crickets per day
Plus salad and super
Tank
MINIMUM of a 40 gallon breeder for an adult

This is a very general care guide and agina any opinions would be awesome

Hi Jimmy...it's nice to see someone ambitious enough to write a care sheet. :) There are a lot of care sheets out there and many of them have the same info but there are always some differences on hydration, supplementing, etc. I think yours looks pretty good over all. Your basking temps. sound good, the lower temp. [ 98 ] being for an adult, the higher 105 for a juvenile . I wouldn't mention extra vit. supplement for a sick beardie since there are many causes of illness so extra vit. may not be an answer. You might clarify about calcium dusting, whether with or without D3 and whether the 5 days for a baby is once a day or for both feedings.

I hydrate them with a spray bottle, spritzing babies 1-2X a day for a drink. Sub adults and adults maybe every 5-7 days. Maybe that's what you meant by using a mister, but those are generally used to create a lot of humidity in a tropical tank.
Anyway, those are a few things...you might add what type of lighting they need, that red or blue bulbs need not be used, etc. I'm sure other people will chime in too. :)

Thank you very much! I will try to keeps mine around 100 since the one im getting is about 9 inches. I got a lot if this from different people on the fourms and put it all together for a general guideline for me to follow. And the calcium is with d3 and herptivite repti-cal. Now with doing more research. One is would I be able to do one big feeding? I have school from 7am-3:40. And my second question is how can i get the ambient temp up because it is around 74 F. I can get the basking but the ambient is the hardest right now

You're welcome. :) To get the ambient temp. up, can you buy another small light fixture and add a 40 -60 watt bulb to the other side of the tank ? You don't need to buy a pet store fixture, you can get an aluminum one at Walmart, Home Depot or Agway for about $8 and use a small watt halogen bulb from the same stores.

Feeding should be a larger one in the a.m + smaller one in the afternoon or vice versa, but a baby should be fed twice daily at least.

Omg that's awesome because I already bought bulbs and an extra fixture. So this works out really good. Thank you so much i am getting this beardie from a friend that does not want them anymore. I did go and see her and she does have a nipped tail but it is not infected and it is healed. I cant wait for her and I can get all the advice i can get. Thank you

Good, and keep in mind that the screen can block anywhere from 15-35 % uvb depending on how small the mesh is. Some people mount the bulb inside the tank using command hooks, but if your dragon can get within 6" of where the uvb rests on the screen then he'll get enough uvb.

Well what i did was broke the plastic off and after doing some research i bought a reptisun 10.0 because the zilla were getting bad reviews

That's fine, but don't throw the Zilla bulb away. I believe that the bad reviews were because people didn't realize that the plastic blocked the uvb.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
