Does anyone else do this?

Hi I just recently aquired a bearded dragon as an early christmas gift from my wife. I was just wondering if anyone puts a mini reptile blanket (or in my case a handkerchief) in the house at night... I know spanky likes to cuddle alot! so I thought maybe a handkerchief with mine and my wifes smell on it would help him sleep through the night. Does anyone else do this? Thanks

I dont know if they really associate our scent as comfort but I do know a lot of us do the same some people put stuffed animals in their beardies vivs I have a soft piece of fabric left over from when I made Thors hammock that I put in her tank hahaha it cracks me up that creatures so scaley and spikey love to cuddle with such soft things.

They do love to snuggle. Something with your scent is recommended to help them get to know you. I buy the plush fabric (the name of which I cannot remember) at WalMart and cut it into blankets. Relatively inexpensive, and there's always a spare if one gets soiled. Congrats on your new beardie!

Thanks everyone! Im so happy with my new beardie, hes a rescue.. the person who previously owned him kept him in a critter keeper with no uvb or heat lamp... when we found him he was belly up and emaciated. We thought he wouldnt make it but now hes a happy beardie who LOVES pumpkin (he goes absolutely wild for it) and snuggling with mom and dad watching movies haha Thanks again!

Hemi gets snuggled from me everynight and the wrapped in a baby blanket like a burrito to sleep. Then in the morning when lights on she comes out happy as a pig! You never usually associate reptiles with wanting to be with their humans, or being so trusting, or wanting comforts of a blanket but they do! Best of luck with your new baby!

So last time I checked on our little guy and he was snuggled and wedged in the corner. I thought he was dead didn't realize they slept so soundly. Didn't budge when I touched him and moved him. I made him a fleece blanket and tucked him between the folds and he stayed there all night.

It's not a necessity but a lot of us do it because we like to spoil our beardies and they don't seem to mind hahaha

My mom is a quilter and she had some left over flannel strips that she had left over from a recent project (for those that ask why flannel for quilts..she uses it as the backing for lap quilts so they are more comfy)

Anyways, she sewed some of those strips together for me today for my little girl. She's tucked into it right now. BAWWWWWW so cute!

I put a washcloth in if i give sunny a soak before bed i just dry her a bit and set her down under her heat lamp and she stays in it for a while or when i come in the room and need the over head light instead of the little lamp i open her tank and put something over her so it does not bother her.
