Miss T one of my beardies had one of those new bad PowerSun 100watts too. Bender, thank God I know my beardies as he is one of the ones I was thinking of when I made that last post. I caught that there was something wrong right away. Of course it takes spending alot of time with them and observing them to see it as you know as well as I do they are masters at hiding the fact that anything is wrong. That's what made me even that much more drove at understanding what their eyes tell us.

How long before you get your new baby?

Kazi sounds like he has an attitude somewhat like my PVT Blaze...my mean muggin' snuggler...he can look so evil at times of course I don't think so but the family does.
I don't think he knows how not to death glare. :lol: But even so I can tell when something is bothering him...even if no one else in the house can see it.

NO worries Barbara... I've jacked a few ppl's threads hehehe. But on the eyes thing.. I've never actually thought of that to be honest with you. The only eye looks I've only gotten is the stink eye.. or whne she's sleepy. I need to pay more attention. But then as you said.. it takes time.. and I know i've only had MJ for 3 months now and I'm starting to learn her body language, etc.

I agree that they all look different! I know my Sobe and how orange hes becoming and his little orange ears! I also have a chocolate lab that we've taken to several dog parks and Ive NEVER seen another chocolate lab near him that I could confuse Scooby with. Everyone is different!

Good choice, I love chocolate labs I have a female named Shelby myself, shes mah baybay- ha and although I rarely see choc labs at the dog park or neighborhood, we have many come into my work, etc and none of them look like her, to me anyway

Barbara, I found out after the fact about the eyes thing. When we were given our first two beardies we knew nothing about them, from what they ate to what they needed to keep them healthy. We didn't find this forum until Redrock was almost one year old. We have a picture of our first two together on a yard rock we found while on one of our trips before we'd gotten them. I noticed, after the picture was enlarged, that Miss O and Miss Y were talking to each other with their eyes (I noticed they did this a lot, our current two don't). Anyway, Miss Y was saying to Miss O that she didn't feel good and Miss O was saying "I know and I'm sorry you don't feel good". I still wish we'd found this place 2.5 years before we did, maybe we'd still have our first two, but then we'd never have gotten Redrock or have Zoom Zoom now, she is a very gentle beardie. I still haven't figured out her appetite because it seemed to have decreased in August, yet now she's eating quite a bit more than she was even one month ago.

I would be able to tell mine apart, to me they are all different.
But I have to share this story. Last year at calendar time, I sent mu mom a link to some pictures we had taken for the calendar. I told her to tell me which 2 pics of Foster and which 2 of Waffle that she liked best, as I was trying to get ideas to submit for the calendar.
She sent back a list of 5 or 6 pictures but they were all of Foster. I asked her why she didnt pick out any of Waffle. She said, quote "I cant tell them apart"
I said ya know, Foster is bright orange and only has 3 legs. Waffle is more tan, and has all 4 legs. SO that is a pretty easy indicator, but she still couldnt tell them apart. lol

There are a couple of pictures of Miss O (her chin) that we have that look like Redrock (her chin), even tho they are obviously different beardies when you see their whole bodies. I wouldn't mistake Miss O for Redrock, or vice versa, but these two views look very alike, with one exception, Redrock's chin was a lot longer/bigger than Miss O's was.

Lori the key to being a good beardie slave is definately being able to read their eyes. But like I said before it's very unfortunate that it takes time to learn this. I'm sorry but Redrock had a look entirely her own in my eyes.

i picked mojo out of a huge tub with probably 75+ hatchlings in it. there was some kinda of magnetic trait that had drawn me to mojo. so i agree that every beardie looks different. however, when they are still very young its MUCH harder to identify physical characteristics, and even if you do, they'll probably change later :roll:
i guess its kinda like trying to recognize people you know from school or something, like "i know them, but i just can't put my finger on it"

You're right but the pics I was talking about were the ones where you see their chin and not anything else not even their eyes. The color of their chins were really close, especially before Redrock started filling out and got that really big chin. I will post those pics tomorrow I don't have to go into work until the afternoon. Then you will probably see what I mean. If I saw their heads together, that would be very easy to tell the difference.

Abu was under the powersun for less than 48 hours... but it was 2 weeks before she really recovered!

How long before you get your new baby?

As soon as my fiance and his mother give me the go ahead, il be going to get it..... we all miss Abu but his mum is still really strugglin with the idea of getting another and, as its her house, I cant really do much without her say so!!! Hopefully, it will still be there when I do get the ok - if not, then it must not be meant for us and Abu will have another little one lined up for us somewhere down the road!!!

Once again we are hijackin... lol... but its still kind of on topic... I THINK....
Kazi has been refusing to eat anything that I allow him to eat..... every cricket and locust has been given a look of total disgust... his eyes literally say 'get me my superworms now'... I told him, hes not allowed any superworms until he goes potty without his slice of apple (sometimes dipped in mineral oil) every 10 days. Today, after 30 mins of trying to get him to eat a cricket, I finally gave in and offered him a superworm, which he munched so quickly it barely hit the floor when I dropped it. He got 2 more before looking up at me with this cheeky little glint in his eye and what I can only describe as a 'smirk' on his face... as it to say 'I WIN, I WIN, I WIN!!'

There is no way my beardies look the same. I would definitely be able to pick them out of a room full of beardies. Anyone who doesn't have reptiles wouldn't understand that they all have a different look and different personality.

oh trust me you guys aren't hijacking. Im watching this thread and its soooo interesting to learn all these things ! I know I've had MJ only for 3 months and she is my first ever ! I knew NOTHING about beardies even after I got her.. until I find this site that is. So hijack away!! Im taking mental notes !!!!!!
