do beardies pick favorites?

do dragons get attached to one person in particular or are they pretty indiscriminate?

I'm a hog with mine so I don't know how she will react with other people....anyone have stories?

My beardie is pretty good with everyone, but he absolutely hates my roomate.
I personally find it halarious, because he'll chase her around the room and jump at her. And of course, she's squealing like a little girl.
He's never tried to bite her or anything, he'll just run and jump at her. I'm not sure what would happen if he actually 'got' her, since she's yet to stay still for it.
But to answer your question...I think so.
My guy has always been fine with everybody, though I'm the only one he glass dances for!

I would say that they definately do bond with their humans.

I'm planning on getting a video when she gets back (she's away right now).
It seems like the best times are when you don't have the camera around. The first time he did that to her, she crab walked halfway aross the room and then jumped onto a chair. I couldn't even help her out because I was laughing so hard.
She's not even scard of him; she's held him before...but when he starts running at her it's like all rational thought leaves her, lol.

Off topic, I know.. But I told her a few weeks back that it might be all the bright colors she wears that attracts him...Ever since whenever he's out she'll go change into dark colors.

It didn't help.

Yup. Dudley usually loves me, but he black beards my mom whenever she comes in my room to say hi to him.

When my friend was pet-sitting for me, he would only eat if her dad fed him. I think she eventually got him to take worms from her too, but it was kinda funny, LOL!

I truly believe they do but think they can warm up to the *2nd* choices given time.

We saw it first hand here with our little guy and maybe it is more a feeling of security with one person more than another at first.....a type of instinct maybe? OR it could just be the first person that cares for them has *favor* at first.

I know that changing your looks can freak them out sometimes as well b/c they don't recognize you so it seems they certainly have personal *choices* which suggests they are very aware of who they want.

I hope you can get the vid of your roomate running for her life *wink*.

Jupiter seems to like everyone about the same, so did my first dragon torque. A rescue I had for a few months didn't though, when ever my daughter tried to hold him he would either squirm away or shut his eyes if she wouldn't let him down. My daughter was away in basic when I first rescued him and I think that had a lot to do with it, he saw her as a stranger. He was never aggressive though and was happy to eat when she fed him.

Angie very much prefers my husband, except when it is feeding time. She's good with everyone, but prefers him. Flippie is also very much a people beardie, and gets along with everyone, but when he is upset, angry or scared, he wants his mommy

We have 5 dragons; They're used to both of us. The only time my hubby is favoured is when Sweetie lays infertile eggs. He helps her with the covering up & patting the earth down over the eggs. I tried to help her once, she glared at me & undid all the work I'd done & was looking for Roger to help. I was insulted, then realized how funny it was, my hubby was considered the better helper. That's the only time we see favourites chosen. Lonzo, he's 8, he prefers to cuddle with me. The other dragons are fine with both of us. So I can say that they do favour the people who care for them the most.

As for colours. Sweetie once chased a book that had a bright red cover, my husband was holding it & she jumped up on a chair to follow it. :lol: They can be very funny!

One of our dragons, the one that's technically my girl friends pet, runs from me. Anytime I reach my hand in his viv he gets as far away as possible, even though I'm the primary care giver(I do 90% of the feedins and all the viv cleanings). One time he even acted like he was gonna bite me all the way until my hand was at his mouth then he just licked me and ran away.

Nu and Tiny loves everyone in my family, as long as there warm and give them hugs its good enough for them..
Billy used to love my dad in particular , he used to jump on the sofa and sit on his knee..

Chester will tolerate my mom, but struggles like crazy to get down if she tries to actually hold him. He black bearded at my uncle yesterday when I left him to go put something in their basement for 2 minutes. And my best friend he gives the stink eye to pretty continuously. So yes, I do think they know the difference between people and choose their favorites.
