Hi everyone,
So long story short, Scully has been on several different antibiotics since late October to treat an aggressive infection. On of the meds is an injection that she gets every 3 days. It used to be that we'd switch off the front arms, but when her right front started getting worse from the infection (and we eventually had to amputate it), we kept the injections in the left arm only.
The vet noticed that her scales were starting to get discolored (that was about a month ago), so we now do the injections under her skin by her shoulders, and switch off sides. Fortunately we are weaning her off the meds and she only has a couple of these left to do!
Below are a couple pics of her arm. She just finished shedding a couple days ago and I was hoping the discolored scales would shed off, but as you can see they didn't. From what I can tell, the muscle underneath seems fine and strong. The affected scales don't seem to bother her at all.
I have a message into my vet about this, but I was curious if any of you have seen this before. Anything I should watch out for? Will the discoloration eventually shed off or is it there permanently now?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
