I have a list of questions that I e-mailed to the vet and I included the link to F10Biocare's website. But, Wow, I haven't looked at the website in a while. I only read up on the cleaner and using it with a nebulizer. I had no idea there was a product like that either!! Good to know... just in case! Thank you Fellow! Everyone here, reading, may be learning something new from you too.

Sorry to bother you i found a link on the f10biocare page to some shop that sells some of the products and it says f10 is effective against MRSA which is staph right?

http://www.bigreptileworld.com/f10-disinfectant-2-c.asp

Orders shipped from Michigan doesnt look like they have all the products

Maybe if you couldnt get the gel then even a diluted rate nebulised so that te right concentration got to his eye might actualy work

Anyway i will go away now lol

Oh yes, we have this F10 in the UK! It is the one that my vets recommend. I use it to steralise my vivarium when I am cleaning it out.

I'm so sorry to hear about Dino's infection :-( The thought of possibility of euphanasia is really not nice, I know! My first BD was diagnosed with leukemia and developed liver cancer. He deteriorated so quickly in the end, and with no possible cure I had to make that horrible decision. I have a new beardie now but I still miss Drake soo much :-(

Your case is different, Dino has something which is curable and I believe its worth the effort. She has already been through worse and proved herself a fighter!

Its important to stay positive even in hard times! :D :blob5:

So, the staph Dino has is MRSA. Vet has treated a chameleon who had it in its' eyes too with the chloramphenicol ointment prescribed to Dino. She's also had some furry ones with it (don't know if it was of the eyes, but she's dealt with it before. That's what's important... experience!) MRSA is no joke, I know. I had a nice talk with her. I sent her a long e-mail for her to review and she answered all my questions during our phone call, making me feel much MUCH better about the whole situation. Gotta move her back into the small tank again. Dino's tank will be washed out weekly with hot, soapy water. Clorox wipes can be used to wipe it down daily. Back to paper towel substrate. I hate putting her back in that stupid little thing. She's got no room to move around. :( Hopefully, it won't be for as long as it was before. It will not effect her eyeball or her vision. The combination of meds she's on right now could be affecting her appetite. My son and I got some Carnivore Care into her tonight. We're like old pro's now getting her mouth open and getting those syringes in and out...1.2.3. Done. Couldn't do it without my boy though! :love5: Oh, UV kills MRSA on the surfaces! Sounds crazy but, that's what SHE SAID... I have to look that up! I don't know how close the light needs to be to the infected surfaces sooo, I'll still be wiping everything down daily. I have to look a lot of things up. So, moving forward with another fight for Dino. I should have the ointment by Thursday. It was supposed to have been shipped out today. She said I should see improvement in about a week after starting it.
Thank you all for offering advice and looking things up for us. :book: You're all so kind and caring!! It means so much... I was prepared to hear the worst today and I know all of you would have been "here" for me. It's comforting to know when the going gets tough, you guys "get going" in the best way possible! :love10: Opening a new chapter of Dino's story. I will keep you posted, as always.

Hi good to see your more upbeat about the situation now hope things get better sooner rather than later. You mention UV light kills MRSA i think she is right im sure ive read somewhere before about the benefits of UV-c lights for hospitals or something.

Good luck ;)

Hello Sue,

I sent you a PM. I hope Dino is having a good day! You are both in my thoughts, daily.
You are still giving probiotics, right?

I am so glad to read your update and that Dino will be ok with the new meds for her eyes and that they wont be affected as far as her sight goes. Bless your heart, you have really been through it with her. I would still use latex gloves handling her, any scratch or open area on your skin can become infected so please use gloves. Will keep you and Dino in my prayers. Glad you can get this cleared up quickly with antibiotics.

Mornin' all...
I have gloves and will be wearing them from now on, until this is over. Tank cleanings and handlings. Gonna make my son use them too even though all he does is squirt the meds into her mouth. You never know... The new medication was ordered late last week after the culture results came back. I should have it by tomorrow. I'm also going to order some Manuka honey from Tracie's site. I've been told it is UVC that kills it. I will be looking into that. I think I'm gonna have to get a second job!! :laughing6: Let the battle begin!

Had The Boy check the mail for the meds. Nope. Called the pharmacy (thought Doc was getting it from another animal hospital). They shipped it YESTERDAY instead of Tuesday. GRRRRRRRRR! :angry5: Waiting... I hate waiting. Story of my life.

Dino's ointment DID show up yesterday! My son found it against the garage door when he came home around 7! Got it on her! Moved her into the little hospital tank. Back to spending hours a night after work, working with Dino. Hopefully the ointment will start working quickly! I came home last night to find that she scratched at her other eye. It had dried blood on the bottom lid. *Fingers Crossed* she'll start healing and feeling better soon!

So, I've been putting the ointment on Dino's eyes twice a day. I was putting artificial tears on them before, as suggested by the doc, because the goop was sealing them shut. The ointment is probably helping with that so, she's able to open them. Been using saline to wash the old off before applying it again. I moved her back into her small tank. Hopefully she wont' have to be in there for too long. She's still not interested in eating on her own so, still syringe feeding her the Critical/Carnivore care mix with some probiotics in there too. She seems to have a little more energy. That makes me feel a little better. She's been "running" a little faster on the "beardie treadmill" trying to escape! Here's the beardie treadmill if some of you have no clue what I'm talking about:  Click the pic and it will take you to the video on Photobucket.com.

Was hoping you'd post today...I think of you two often. You have been through so much together. Glad to hear that her energy level is improving and that she is back on the treadmill. :D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
