I'm sorry to hear this Sue ! I just wanted to bring up the use of raw honey again, but please know that' it is just a suggeation. You might ask your vet about it, and if you Google " raw honey as medicine " You will see a whole lot of great info. It's approved in several countries as a wound dressing, and the write up that I mentioned has included use on animals. A few of the reasons why it is effective are these : Non healing wounds that are treated for long periods with antibiotics can become more prone to developing anti biotic resistant bacterial strains. The reason raw honey is so effective is that it appears to kill bacteria in multiple ways at once and the microbes have no chance to develop resistance. Honey has an acidic PH that kills germs, has a low water content that dehydrates the bugs and enzymes that produce antiseptic hydrogen peroxide. With raw honey, wounds can become sterile and advancing necrosis is halted. There is no adhesion to granulating skin . So those are just a few of the benefits that have been noted in the clinical studies, and these studies included people with diabetic ulcers, burns, and other deep and non healing wounds. Again, I'm just throwing that out there because I know how hard you are trying to get this poor girl better .
