do leatherbacks have more vibran t colors?
Since Leatherbacks have reduced scalation, even normal colors show more intensely. An average red bearded dragon that's also a leatherback looks more intensely red than a normally scaled beardie of about the same level of red coloration.
Leatherbacks come in two lines, one known as the Italian Leatherback, the other as American Leatherback. When you breed them together, you get leatherbacks and normals, but they carry two lines of leatherback. When you breed two Italian Leatherbacks together, or two American leatherbacks together, you get Silkie bearded dragons, which are completely scaleless. The method of inheritance for this is known as Codominant, as the gene expresses itself with only one copy of the gene present, and having two copies of the gene results in a "super" form, or a homozygous form, that it is different from the heterozygous form (one copy of the gene).
As far as fancy goes, that seems like just one way to label the different color morphs without having to create 20 different labels for each color strain to come through.
