hey guys- I'm new to this forum and joined because I have concerns about my bearded dragons. The oldest who is two and a half years old has popped twice in the past few weeks and both times he had diarrhea. the last time ( this morning ) he also had a very hard urate. he's been acting normally and eating just fine. he's on a regular diet of arugula, collards, superworms, and occasionally raspberries. he lives in a 40 gallon tank with repti-carpet as a substrate. he has a basking area of 105-110 and a repti sun 10.0 uvb bulb. he also has a heat rock that I check the temperatures of regularly. I've read that diarrhea is better than impaction but it still makes me nervous. he also never had a problem until I got the second beardie.
my second baby is about 6 months and also has a problem with pooping. she has normal looking poops & unrates but it looks like she also lets out liquid with it. she's on the same diet as my older bearded dragon (except small crickets instead of super worms) and mostly same setup but her basking spot stays at 100-105. I also keep her on paper towels for now ( considering how often babies poop ) and she does not have a heat rock. she actually just pooped and it looks the same as it has recently. I'll try to take it to the vet today to have it tested for parasites.
any suggestions? I really love these guys a whole lot id feel terrible if there was something I'm missing or overlooking. one thing I've slacked on is bringing them in for wellness checks but besides their pooping problem they both seem like healthy, active, brightly colored & slightly spoiled lizards.
