Dewey's Thread: Updated: 9/6/12 He's Very Sick

I received Dewey on 1/13/10. After having him for a couple of days I officially decided to name him Dewey. Since he now has a name I thought I should make a thread dedicated to him so I can share our journey and his growth with all of you.

Being my first beardie, Dewey will always have a very special place in my heart. He's been a pure joy to have so far. Especially now that he's starting to come out of his shell little by little every day. I'm truly excited to see how he will develop in the months to come.

So, enough babble... here are the first set of pictures which I took tonight.

Hanging out on his vine. I wasn't expecting Dewey to be as small as he is. Yesterday was the first time he was seen up on his vine and he was up there again today. He seems to be a pro with navigating it!

Thanks! I think he's a pretty happy little guy, going from my limited experience with beardies anyway.

Thank you, his leg is getting better. He still has a little ways to go, but he's getting there!

Here are some more pics of my little guy.

These were taken on Christmas Eve. What a life he's got!

These were just taken today. He's still getting daily baths to try to help the shedding process move along. He is starting to shed finally, but he still has a ways to go. His tail and the back of his head and neck are also getting ready to shed. Poor Dewey's having a tough time with this one.

I'm wondering if his beard will be starting to shed soon too. He's been flaring it out a little bit more than usual lately.

Wow! I can't believe it's been over a month since I've uploaded pics! I feel so ashamed..

Dewey's been doing great. I think he kind of went through a partial brumation where he didn't eat as much, but now he's eating like a champ. The other day he even gave me my first head bob which I thought was VERY cool. It was only that once though.

He's also gone through some shedding. In a very weird pattern this time. First his hind right leg shed, then it spread over to the top half of his tail and back, then over to his left hind leg and face, and finally to the back of his head and neck. He's still got a patch on the back of his neck to shed, but he's getting there.

Anyway, here are some pics from today.

I just love Dewey! I remember when you got him a year ago all of the pics that you posted, he's very photogenic! And those eyes.... :love10: I wish that Mojo was his size, Mo is 100 grams less than Dewey!!!
