Dewey's Thread: Updated: 9/6/12 He's Very Sick

I received Dewey on 1/13/10. After having him for a couple of days I officially decided to name him Dewey. Since he now has a name I thought I should make a thread dedicated to him so I can share our journey and his growth with all of you.

Being my first beardie, Dewey will always have a very special place in my heart. He's been a pure joy to have so far. Especially now that he's starting to come out of his shell little by little every day. I'm truly excited to see how he will develop in the months to come.

So, enough babble... here are the first set of pictures which I took tonight.

Hanging out on his vine. I wasn't expecting Dewey to be as small as he is. Yesterday was the first time he was seen up on his vine and he was up there again today. He seems to be a pro with navigating it!

Here are some more pictures taken today of my baby Dewey. My brother is in town for the weekend and he was super excited, to say the least, that I have a beardie. He's had iguanas, water dragons, and geckos in the past, but never a beardie. He really fell in love with my little boy.

In the first two pictures, Dewey is being held by my brother. The rest are just normal bath pictures. I'm using a black dish towel on the "floor" of the tub in an attempt to get Dewey's colors to stand out more. Enjoy!

Dewey is so cute great name for him. I love the bath pictures. Take losts of pictures they seem to go from 5 inches to 20 over night.

You all said to post a lot of pictures, so here are some more from today. Dewey's turning into quiet the explorer. He was all over his cage today. Between basking on his log and hanging out on his vine, he seems to be very content now. I just gave him a bath about a half hour ago, but he didn't seem to into it today. I think it may be because I tried a new "tub". I'll go back to the old one tomorrow and see how it goes.

Thanks guys! Dewey is adjusting quite well now. He still has a partial black beard so I'm not sure if he still has some stress or if it's just his coloring. I noticed late this afternoon that he had stress marks, but I had been busy with other stuff for most of the day so I hadn't been able to take him out at all. Once I took him out the stress marks got lighter, black beard stayed the same though.
