today i was cleaning out my little Dash's terrarium so i put her in the dreaded blue tub, the one i give baths in!! so when i come from outside cleaning the terrarium carpet and put it back, then put her bridge,hideouts,plants, and dishes back where they belong. filled the food dish with greens and the water dish with water. i go to pick up Dash and i must have scared her or something, because for the first time ever SHE PUFFED HER BEARD AND OPEN HER MOUTH AT ME!!! it freaked me out bad!! i was so scared to put my hand in there to grab her and put her back in her home. so i slowly tiped the tub over and she still puffing and opening mouth so i slowly grabed her in her beach towel and justs covered her up so only her face was poking out and just waited till she relaxed. i felt confident enough to stroke her head and after awhile i took her out of the towel and let her roam for awhile before i picked her up and set her back in her home. she is usually the sweetest little girl, i dont know what got into her!! i think she might be getting ready to shed because her back is really dull and she didnt eat much, just few bits of veggies, few cricks, half a super thats head kept walking around with half the body missing leaving a trail of gut liquid wherever it went. i just let her chill for couple of hours and then i took her out again to see how her temperment was and she a total sweetie agian, just running all over me and decided to rest on my arm. i took many pictures with her and she was very well behaved thru it all. maybe she not a morning beardie lol. Aw Dash is so cute! Maybe she was upset you left her in that blue tub for so long and she wanted to play with you. My beardie Sunny, she bearded at me twice when I first got her, now she's a little lovebug. Anyway, when she did it I reached in slowly while talking to her and picked her up, she was in the palm of my hand and started to calm down and I slowly stroked her chin and gently closed her mouth. The second time I did the same thing and she's never done it again. I found out she hates paper towels, both times I was cleaning up poop in her house with a paper towel and I think the noise it was making caused her to beard at it. She lives on paper towels right now too, she's so funny!

Today Dash woke up earlier than normal and was already moving around before i turned on the lights, which is weird cause usually she doesnt move until i turn them on and just poke her head up to see if im awake. after i came home from school I fed her and gave some water, thru eye dropper since she doesnt drink out of dish yet. hopefuly she learn soon (any advise??) she walked around my bed for awhile and then put her back in her home. i went to petco got more criks and new plant and larger water and food dishes. when i came back i notice she was starting to shed a little where the tail and body meet. it wasnt much so i figure give another day. but after i got home from taking my gf(Dash's mommy) home she was shedding bad!! it looked like she wearing t shirt, poor thing!! it was almost full body shed except for legs and head which had shed about week earlier. so i gave her a bath with zilla shed ease for about 20 mins, which she never likes(except for once when she swam around) always trys to jump out or climb my hand. her back and belly shed came off completly but the tail didnt so im going to wait for tomorrow and see if it starts shedding more and maybe give another bath. after the bath she looked pretty and new. she just wanted to be held in my hand so i did for awhile but when i try to put her back on her rock to warm up she did the strangest thing!! she wouldnt let go of my finger with one hand (strong little beardie) and clawed/scrathed my hand with the other hand (left me with little red scatchs) so i took her back out and held her for more, i guess thats her way to tell me "HOLD ME!!" she finally went back to her home and warmed up in her basking spot. and at 9 was light out time and she promptly found her spot to sleep and passed out. heres some pics from the bath.

Dash is a sweetie pie. Our lil guy gaped and puffed up a couple times when we first got him. I wasn't expecting it so it scared the bajeebers out of me every time lol. So I know where you're coming from. I can't get my guy to do it at all now. I want to take a pic with his mouth wide open like that, It's quite an impressive site to see!

Our Yoshi did that to my husband when we first got him, would puff up, open mouth and even hiss.


It looks like Dash likes to do alot of cool stuff, reading, looking at comic books ufc...

Evie has also puffed and hissed at me a few times. But I usually just slowly put my hand in, palm up and let her smell and lick one of my fingers. Usually that does the trick and she realizes it is me.

Not much has been happening in Dash's life. I got a funny video of her before bed time acting crazy that ill try to post tonight. thx you all for the comments, I read them to her every night. Her tail still hasnt shed yet but very gray so hopefully any day now. It usually takes awhile for it to shed completly, last time took several days and baths. Im looking to switch her to silks or pheonix worms, probably mulberry farms. On a funny note i was weighing her today and she pee on the scale!! :x !! she done that twice now, i guess its not ok to ask a girl her weight lol. yesterday was the first snow here in central oregon and she was looking outside with her head tilted like "Whats that??" she is a little cutie and cracks me up all the time. Oh yeah yesterday i weighed her and she was 48.5 grams and today she was 52.8 grams so in one day she gain 4.3 grams!! tonight i gave her some bene bac, she really loves the taste and licks it up.
