Dancing on Glass

So, I've had my babes for a little bit now, but every once and awhile, (my male mostly,) will put his body, and stomach on the side glass and kind of seem like he's trying to climb out, but I call it squirming. He moves side to side and it worries me lol. He does this quite frequently, and I haven't had time to research because of school coming to an end soon.
What does this mean?
His and her age are around a year now.

It sounds like he wants to get out and run around. If you let him out of the tank does he seem active and interested in exploring?
