Cricket Keeper Question

Hi everyone I am going to buy around 500 crickets in bulk on Ghann's Cricket Farm. Anyways I was thinking of a method of storing them. I have a 29 gallon glass tank and a 50+ gallon plastic storage bin. Which would work better? Do crickets live better in a glass aquarium with a metal mesh at the top for air? The plastic tub has a top on it which you could puncture some holes for air.

Also I was thinking about buying a bag of Ghann's Cricket Feed for food. For water, soak a large sponge in water and put in keeper. Replace every so often. Then put some egg carton and toilet paper rolls in there to house in.

I don't know if there is a difference between plastic or glass as far as better for crickets. Both setups sound like they will work though. Make sure the plastic bin has smooth sides so they can't climb them. When I but crickets they love the t.p. rolls. It is also very easy to just pick up a tube and tap it on the side of the tank for feedings.

Provide heat, clean water, a corn based food and clean out the dead crickets daily, they will thrive in whatever the container. Don't overcrowd them. I found keeping them on vermiculite as a substrate makes daily cleaning, odor, survival rates significantly better. I pick less than 10 crickets a day from 10,000 large I have at all times. There are some great e-books out there on raising crickets. You may have to buy them, but even if you want to just keep large amounts at any given time, the books are invaluable.
