Hi all,
I have the Exo Terra Light Unit Controller 2x40W PT2239
got this a while ago, it takes two bulbs and have been using it with the exo terra repti glo 2.0 and the reptiglo 10.0 as suggested by exo terra. since realising thanks to the knowledgeable people on here that the reptiglos are no good i have decided to change to the reptisun 2.0 and reptisun 10.0.
The question i have is if the exo terra light unit says 2 x 40w 48in bulbs to be used (thats what the exo terra repti glo bulbs are), is it safe / can i use 2 x 36w 48in reptisun bulbs? or will they possibly blow / explode?
Also if i use the reptisun 10.0 in combination with the reptisun 2.0 do i still need to use a bright basking bulb or can i use a ceramic in place of a bright basking bulb? i read on here that if you dont use a bright basking bulb the uv strips can damage bd's eyes.
I only ask as marv (my bd) has a ceramic heater under his bed that i put on at night and during the day he will always go back to the ceramic heater to try and bask under it despite the fact its not hot enuff for basking, i think he prefers the heat emmited from the ceramic as opposed to a standard basking bulb.
Any help much appreciated
