Couple of questions

I have been expreriencing a few problems with my new beardie and need a couple of questions answered.

Is a normal household soft bulb appropriate for a basking lamp?

I understand that a bearded dragon needs between 30 and 60 crickets per day. Does this number apply to all staple live feeders? Please specify, eg. Locusts, roaches ect.

Do locusts bite like crickets? Is it okay to leave locusts in its enclosure all day?

Is a normal household soft bulb appropriate for a basking lamp? If you can get the proper temps with a normal bulb that's fine. I use flood bulbs (household) because they direct the light/heat in a specific direction where the normal round household bulb radiates in all directions.

I don't put a specific number on how many they will eat but what they can eat in a 10-15 minute time frame. The size of the feeder does make a difference too but it should be no bigger than the space between their eyes. The numbers you mentioned would not be unusual though. Please specify, eg. Locusts, roaches ect.

Thank you. My main problem is with feeding. He ate NOTHING today. I am thinking of trying a few locusts and a couple of waxworms. I just want him to eat SOMETHING.

Peera gave you some questions, and a possible answer. I too, believe that Dusk is experiencing relocation stress, and should be back to normal in a week or two.
A 9 month old is still a juvenile, so you will want to offer at least 2 if not 3 feedings as much as he will eat in 15-20 minutes each day. Also if you start the day out with a salad as soon as lights come on, he will be more inclined towards eating veggies.
